Re: Coleman instant tent reviews? Suggestions?

Yeah i for sure will be setting it up. We have a backyard that is all solid dirt with loose dirt on top, so i think it will be at least similar enough surface to get an idea of if it will stay put. And to top it off, i live on the side of a mountain so we get our really windy days. I am going to try...

Re: Coleman instant tent reviews? Suggestions?

Yup that is the page i found too. Did you have any problems getting the monkey hut to stay on the re-bar in wind? or should some well placed guy lines do the trick?

I suppose we will be getting dusty no matter what we do haha, just gonna have to figure out a way to minimize it

Re: Coleman instant tent reviews? Suggestions?

Yeah i have been reading through those threads. the problem is that so many people have experiences that contradict the experiences of others so i have been taking the stance of getting as much advice from as many people as possible and mulling it down to the pros and cons and trying to find the clo...

Wow thanks for all the tips guys! Just woke up and was so grateful to see you guys posting on this thread. @AntiM - We will be renting a utility van, but no trailer, and yes the futon does have a frame, we are also planning on bringing carpet or AstroTurf to make sure the legs don't rip through the ...

Re: burningman/honeymoon/birthday all wrapped into one

i was thinking the traditional tea and biscuit (a la the UK i guess), crispy cookie thingies is the best way to describe them i think hehe, not so much the biscuits and gravy type, that could get a bit messy as they crumbled to easily. Cookies might have a fighting chance though, especially if i pac...

Re: Healing a broken leg, worried about getting around the p

(on a 2-wheeler you're constantly doing stop/starts, or you end up circling a lot as you take things in or wait for pokey campmates…. on a trike you just stop pedaling without fear of falling over). Plus of course, rough spots, strong gusts, and general clumsiness aren't likely to make you take a t...

Re: Healing a broken leg, worried about getting around the p

Hey Elliot, I looked at these when we first decided to go to BM, and i saw the price and went "ouch!" i looked all over for a 2nd hand one but to no avail in my local area. I would love to have one of these wonderful transportation devices, but it simply isn't in the budget. :( if you happen to hear...

Re: burningman/honeymoon/birthday all wrapped into one

Yeah, funky cookies would be no bueno! although i am trying to mentally prepare for the amount of playa dust that will inevitably get on all foods right before it goes in my mouth and the awkward taste that i will end up having to get used to haha (crosses my fingers in hopes that it wont be too bad)

Coleman instant tent reviews? Suggestions?

Hey guys, I have been doing a lot of research on different tents to take to BM, between the BM 1st timers guide, the forums and Google searches, etc and one that I liked a lot was the Coleman Instant 8 person tent. I like that it is very easy to set up and take down, is seemingly sturdy (should stay...

Re: burningman/honeymoon/birthday all wrapped into one

My birthday lands in the middle of the burn. :) How exciting! Mine is Sept 1st. What day is yours? Thanks for the tip about the tables and vaccuum sealed baggies! That is a great idea! I may have to make cookies then, I love to bake and cookies would probably hold up nicely, yes? Well if i don't se...

Healing a broken leg, worried about getting around the playa

Hey guys! Back in December 2011 i was in a gnarly car accident where i broke my tibia and fibula. They are healing thankfully, but the type of break i have can take up to six months to fully heal. My doctor has advised me that due to my rate of healing that i should be perfectly fine to go to burnin...

Re: burningman/honeymoon/birthday all wrapped into one

Thanks guys! I will definitely talk these ideas over with the hubby and see how feasible it would be for the tea party with your ideas, and i am pretty sure he was planning on announcing my birthday to everyone who would listen. He is such a sweet man!

Please send more ideas if you got 'em!

burningman/honeymoon/birthday all wrapped into one

Hey guys! New on the forums and new to burning man! My wonderful fiance and i decided that we wanted to take our honeymoon at Burning Man and go through a challenge together. We aren't the kind of people who want the "perfect" honeymoon in a resort getting massages and sitting there watching TV in r...
