Recruit me , Northbay
Hey folks, 2005 will be my second year on the playa. I would love very much to create my own great work of art for the lovely citizens of BRC to play with. Alas, I have not the resources this year. I'm looking for peeps in the Northbay, Sonoma, Marin counties or therabouts, who need help working on ...

Wow!!!! This thread and topic has gone off the deep end. It seems that many of us are trying to assign specific meaning to an event that is really about celebrating human expression and the ways in which this type of celebration builds strong community through mutual awe and respect. i don't underst...

having been initiated into the Burning Man community so recently, i'm really happy to see the amount of love that all of you feel for this event. I know I posted a similar sentiment in a former post, but seeing the amount of emotion ad thought that has gone into so many of you'r satements just makes...

OK. Well like I said i was just curious and geekster does have a point in that the big dance camps do seem to attract spectators. I personally love to dance and i really like electronic music to dance to. It can all be quite a distraction when you mix in some really good drugs. there's nothing like ...

Playasnake, Are you talking about the masses of uglyass tricked out Honda civics roving here and there eachone exactly the same except for the nauseating pastel colors and lettered logos all over the body? Are you fucking kidding me? What are you talking about? maybe elaborate a bit. i wasnt trying ...

Rob and Geekster, I love it. these kids (rave generation) have lived their whole lives with everything given to them. Everything laid out for them. They don't know the word Create. Under 30 is the ADD generation. They don't know how to make art, but they want to!!! i'm telling you they want tto. It ...

the rave scene inhibits creativity and participation. Its true. I loved dancing in the clubs, but usually didnt hit them till one or two in the morning. I hate to miss all the stuff that goes down out on the playa after the sun sets. Well really geekster, Its to bad for the ones who only hang out in...

Thats certainly an idea, Geekster. Someone should try that. Techno, electronica, house, breaks. Same difference to those who don't like the stuff. So, you really think it's killing the event? Music and dance are both art forms. And electronica can be quite creative at times. beleive it or not. I act...

What do you hate about the rave scene in BRC?
Im just curious. I kinda like the all night clubs. Although, it would be very nice to have a few more alternatives in the line of dance and music, but thats completly up to the participants to make that happen now isnt it? Personally I think more Jazz clubs would rock. More funk and soul would be fu...

Ice is essential if you are staying in the desert for a week and you want to eat decent food. Ice sales dont smack of commercial chain shops. Coffee would be provided by citizens if they did not sell it it center camp. It sucks even having to take money out and look at it while your on the playa. It...

I don't know. Think of the effort involved in such tombic projects as the Pyrimids and the Taj Mahal. Although the 2nd only turned into a tomb during the lengthy building project.
Did they try to burn the pyramids after they finished them? I don't recall read...

Fuck respect and reverence at the temple burn. the temple burn itself is a slap in the face of all thats considered spiritual or holy in the outside world. Lets build a big fucking beautiful structure and then burn the thing to the ground two days later. One of my best experiences at the burn that n...
