Re: My fear of past discretions affecting 2019 experience
Our camp hosted an Aussie virgin a few years ago. That guy out burned our entire camp! He did his homework, came prepared, and throughly embarassed me by being such a badass! If somebody is throwing you shade tell them to eat shit! Then go find something else to do! You haven't even arrived and you'...

The only tracked vehicle I can recall seeing in the past several years is this. Much different treads than yours and substantially mutated.

Re: How is the road from Winnemucca to Gerlach (NV 49 I think)
I've taken Jungo Road twice by leaving from Lovelock and heading north until it intersected Jungo Road. I thought I'd cut off a big back up in traffic once I hit 447. Both times I popped out right at the end of the line so there was really no benefit other than skipping the idiots on 447 that JUST H...

There doesn't seem to be much information on the waiting room situation this year? Anyone know how that's working? Waiting room opens at Noon but tickets don't actually go on sale until what time? Or is there no waiting room this year?

Re: 2016 Map and street names: Now with parking
Here's an excerpt from the Burner Express FAQ page. It pretty much sums up the situation: Q: If I arrive on Saturday where may I camp? If you’re not part of a placed camp, You may ONLY camp between G Street and L Street outside of the blue flags. Blue flags in the ground mark off reserved camping-do...

Re: 2016 Map and street names: Now with parking
The purple shading is like a slow moving blob. Eventually if you're not in a placed camp you'll be on the outer ring. Last year G street was either flagged or filled 5 days before the gates opened. I'm just hoping they haven't flagged H street this year. It looks a little shaded. Yeah, what is the ...

Re: 2015 turn key camps and self reliance
I think the problem lies with the media. Burning Man is no longer a secret and there's no turning back. It is mainstream. Katy Perry Instagramming her Segway fail is only going to add 30,000 teenie boppers into the general sale. These people don't give a shit about knowing the ten principles, let al...

So I spent the last two hours digging up photos of my youth. I spent a semester in the 'gong. We played a fair bit of your game although I can't remember if it was, "Wheel of Goon!" or "Goon of Fortune!" Hope to see you soon! Here's a pic of my long ago GF in action, check out that Hill's! Ha Ha, I was waiting for this comment! Canoe, you're the winner. You're probably right, the BMS is probably cheap but, like myself, I assume that most people use power tools until the battery dies and then they recharge them. I have a couple of different brands of tools between home and work and the...

Don't have a 12V battery laying around, or don't fee like buying a new one? You can use a buck converter http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-LM2596-4-0-40-to-1-3-37V-LED-Voltmeter-Buck-Step-down-Power-Converter-Module-/261713002463?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cef4f7fdf to step the voltage down from a bat...

Those are all good ideas to check. I'm sure the humidity was an issue too. You're looking for a drop of about 30 degrees in "low" humidity.

More Flame Effects Tips?
Hi! I'm looking to create a 5-7ft flame. I have a few questions:
1. Is there an ideal pressure? Will a normal 5lb BBQ regulator be fine or should I get an adjustable one for more pressure?
2. The regulator is placed after the accumulator, correct?
3. What would make a good nozzle/tip?
Thanks!

Re: Yet another monkey hut enthusiast
Hi GypsyMike. I'll jump in here. I have built my first monkey hut and plan to attend Burning Man in August. Based on what I have read and gathered from the experienced burners, I think wrapping the pvc in duct tape has a pretty big sticky mess potential. If I was going to wrap the pvc, I would prob...

The only real problem with doing what I consider the right thing and telling people who insist you move out of "their" un-officially-placed space to fuck off is that you don't want to be their neighbors anyway. It's a problem that I dunno what to do about because allowing it to happen sucks too. Ex...

Worked awesome. Made those afternoon delights much more delightful ha ha! The real downside though was spending too much time in the tent. Sorta feel like I missed out a little this year. Re: cooling your tent or van
Wow, what a thread :) Forgive if this was asked on one of the 80 pages, but how big is FIGJAM's tent in cubic feet? The recommendation was to cycle air every 3 to 5 minutes, but the choice was 150 CFM fan which will translate into 450-750 cubic feet, that's one big tent or van. I cannot seem to fin...
