Re: BLACK ROCK CITY AIRBRUSH Body Paint
We will be painting out of a plywood booth on 8:00 and C. If you see a party naked tiki bar you are warm... Lovely! Thank you Jake. I'm looking forward to cocreating with you and fellow burners!! Such a great idea for a camp. Have you done this before at the burn? I'm curious how your airbrush, com...

Re: Bike decorating theme camp? Where you at?
Tara there will be several bike decorating camps. I haven't seen a post from 'Pimp your bikes' but they have been out there for several years. If you want to search now, use this on Google. the search feature on this site doesn't work worth a poop. .... site:eplaya.burningman.org decorate bike Than...

Bike decorating theme camp? Where you at?
I'm going to guess this exists. I'll be picking up my old bike in Reno on the way into the burn and would love to give her a makeover. She's naked right now. Still cute. Unfortunately my decorations for my previous bike rental are in NC and finances are going elsewhere atm. Also, if you know of anyo...

I hear that. Pretty much how my first year went. At least we have a nice shade structure at camp to hang out in and of coarse the many other places on the playa.Elorrum wrote:I nap in the shade, and stay out of my unshaded tent during the day. It can be done.

Re: Basic canopy over a tent. Does it help?
I'm giving this a nudge over to the building camps & villages board, since that's a better fit for discussions about shade structures. Others have said it well, even in a good weather year you could face several hours at a time of strong winds, or in a real kickup it's not uncommon for gusts and su...

Re: Basic canopy over a tent. Does it help?
Tara when you get to camp look for me, Craig. I may be new but I'm setting rather low expectations about weather. We'll figure out how to make the best of it. I'll have gorilla tape, tie straps, and an appetite for risk. Craig!! You are camping with my old camp, Big Puffy Yellow!! Nice! Have fun. I...

Re: Basic canopy over a tent. Does it help?
If you can build this configuration between two panel trucks deep inside a neighborhood that's got good windblock - you may just got it made, babe. Get 5 or 6 long stakes and pound them in. Tie or duct tape all the legs to a stake. Toss a rope over and secure in 3 places. Cross your fingers and say...

Thank you for confirming. Much appreciated.Captain Goddammit wrote:Yeah that thing is awful wimpy for desert winds. If you don't think it'll stand up on the roof of your car on the freeway, it's not strong enough.

Re: Basic canopy over a tent. Does it help?
I would go to Home Despot and buy four large orange stakes. Use them as you would rebar and anchor the hell out of your structure. Also duct tape every corner and where anything can tear apart. You cannot make it too strong. Frankly I think you will be very disappointed and the first large wind wil...

Basic canopy over a tent. Does it help?
Hello tribe... I'm thinking of bringing a basic canopy that I have to place over my tent. Has anyone done this? I do not have anything covering the sides at the moment. May be able to snag something. When I say canopy I mean one of these... https://goo.gl/images/Whte6c Also what is a good way to sec...

Raingear?
Should I bring some or not this year? Thoughts? My first burn was last year and I have never experienced the playa when it rains. (Does this also mean there are no dust storms this year?) I'm thinking I should at least bring something for night, since it gets cold. Being wet and cold is not fun. Dry...

Do you both have any recommends on any areas to visit in Lake Tahoe? I've never been. I have a friend that just moved out there too, so I will also reach out to him. Would love to hear what you all have to say too!

Kool tie is way cool!
Last year I picked up a Kool tie at REI for like $11. Just looked and they actually have their own site with way more designs. They are filled with these tiny crystal balls that after you soak it for 30-45 mins it blows up. I know that sounds like a long time but worth it! I would just pop it in my ...
