Re: Outside Services Vendors for 2023

Phew! At least the filthy poors have to bring their own bikes and water and coffee. We wouldn’t want to inconvenience the parasite airport class, but fuck everybody else.

Re: Bringing my Vintage Cotton Tent, how to make it dust proof?

Buy a cheap tent from craigslist. One that completely zippers closed. Wax the zippers with bike chain wax (not grease). Cut an old sheet to fit the mesh openings of the tent, hot glue around the edges of the windows. close the zipper every time you leave the tent. Buy a second tent for storage. Slee...

Re: Lost gold earring at Mayan Warrior-Robot Heart Link-Up

Like all the other garbage dropped by wasted EDM zombies at Robot Heart/ Mayan Warrior, your earring got MOOPed by the volunteer clean-up crew after you shambled home at sunset to sleep it off until the following night's Default Celebrity DJ Set. But thanks for contributing.

Re: Camping solo tips?

Grey water is simple: don’t create it. Bring only shelf stable food (cans of soup, Jerkey, crackers, cans of fruit, tuna, etc.). No fresh food means no dirty cooler water and no cooking water waste, and a five gallon bucket with a lid for your grey water (toothpaste spit, hot beer, soup dregs, etc.)...

Re: Critique Virgin Tent/Shade Buildout?

Also critical is a little ground cover just under and extending out from your tent. A cozy rug is nice for napping in the shade, but a tarp will do. This is where you take off your boots, drop your coat, untangle your necklaces, pour yourself a cocktail. These kinds of activities are messy in your t...

Re: Critique Virgin Tent/Shade Buildout?

My two cents - if you’re good friends maybe have one tent for sleeping only, keeping it zipped closed and clean most of the time, and one tent for supplies. The supply tent would be where you come in wasted at 1 am looking for That OneThing, pouring through boxes or finding a handle of alcohol or ch...

Clothes: take fifty bucks to a thrift store and buy four shorts, five tank tops, one heavy winter coat (faux fur is nice), one pair of sweat pants, one broad brimmed hat, long johns top and bottom, and one warm beanie. No one will care what you’re wearing. Don’t waste money on costumes. If you can, ...

Re: First Time - Sorry for a lot of questions!

Every year I go to Ross or Marshall’s and buy a cheap pair of the thickest-soled running shoes I can find. Old tennis shoes tend to have flattened, but even a cheap pair will give you comfy support for a week. Think of it like walking and dancing and biking on cement 24 hours a day for a week. Get c...

You don’t need a camp. You ARE a camp. Bring something to share (shots! Pickles! Sharpie tattoos!). Set up a table outside your camp and put up a camp sign. Voila! You are a theme camp.

We saw it on Saturday or Sunday night during pre-event build, and our two bravest, fittest, dumbest straight boys climbed it. They came down pretty quickly with reports of doors opening and tires spinning. But damn, that piece was epic. The closest to old BM I’ve seen in few years.

Ecothrift - an enormous and cheap thrift store off highway 99 on florin. Thrift town - almost as large, two locations. Google it. Prevues at 24th and K. I’ve never heard of a seven person RV, but if it’s just you and three other people, a total of four strangers might not fill the grey water tank until Tuesday, assuming none of you are women who “need” to wash their hair or hands. So that’s a good start.

Lots of decent food is available shelf-stable. Canned soups and chilis, canned fruit, beef jerky, crackers and peanut butter, canned or pouch tuna, nuts, granola, dried fruits. You dont need to spend a lot to get shelf stable food.
