That said, are lurkers allowed? I can't offer much by way of snacks but carry a sketchbook and will happily do you a portrait. (Bear in mind I attempted to come last year and got distracted and didn't because reasons)

Re: Eplaya Meet And Greet 2014 Edition

Am I right in thinking the Meet and Greet is a private event and thus the rules of the health department permits don't count? I'd really like to work out a way to bring a Pavlova... Oh gawd pavlova on playa (playlova?) would literally be the end of any and all foods I could eat out there. I probabl...

Re: is THIS a not - to - offensive gifting idea?

Just one thought - burn barrels work well for wood and people do sometimes burn paper in them but it can get moopy when blackened pieces of thin newsprint paper start blowing around. Just remind people to "keep it or gift or recycle it at home". Paper is no longer allowed in community burn barrels/...

Re: Realistic non-cooler based menu planning

Edited to add: You may already be drinking evaporated milk and not know it. In parts of the US where milk has to be trucked over distance from farm to processor, the milk is evaporated by removing part of the water under vacuum. The resulting concentrate is pumped to the usual tanker for transport....

Try some condensed canned milk and see if you like it. For tea or coffee it should be fine. ...this is what I probably should've been doing all along. I don't know why the thought never crossed my mind.....my Serbian in laws love it...it's a bit sweet but goes alright if you don't add sugar. .....A...

Re: Realistic non-cooler based menu planning

You'll find soy, rice, and almond milk in that packaging in any store that carries such (and that's most of them, these days) but not cow. This is so ubiquitous, that a corner of my brain is calling out all sorts of weird stuff upon your head for even asking. The little ones are small and moopy, bu...

non - consensual art attacks Not a band name... but what a fine name for an album. I've shared my art out there... Can you give it to people in a direct way, rather than a box? Make it a personal connection? (Heck, I'd love to have one... or at least look at one.) Kinko's seems to be pretty cheap, ...

"Shelf Stable" (unless that's for horses) is the search term. If you have local confederates, I'd suggest *going into order on the web and have it shipped there* mode. The larger sizes may be out of fashion due to confusion with irradiated product. You can get soy, rice, and almond milk in that pac...

Oh absolutely no commercial aspect. The only thing I would hope to gain from it would be possible feedback. Maybe a box for when I'm not there with a little sign saying something like "free comics! is THIS a not - to - offensive gifting idea?

My job isn't the most exciting thing in the world, so one of the things I do to keep myself amused is I've been working on a comic book. It's not related too TTITD in any way, except for being inspired while there to finally get off my arse and set pen to paper. So my question is, If I were to bring...

Re: cooling your tent or van

I'm going to make a practice go of it over here actually, but I'll get my wood/metalshop teaching, housebuilding, car restoring father to help I'm thinking, as it's always fun to see him laugh at my complete lack of understanding when it comes to things like that.
Thanks :)

Ok so....in theory these bucket coolers LOOK relatively easy to put together, but realistically, for someone absolutely no technically minded (IE. me) how much of a job would this be? I'm running under the assumption that it's not TOO time consuming but again, I'm pretty crap when it comes to stuff ...

Re: Staying awake in Entry // Exodus?

Just plan on being in line for 8 or more hours. If you're feeling fatigued and not sure you'll be able to stay awake that long on the way in, stop in Reno (there are usually a few different casinos with inexpensive room rentals). If you're not sure you'll be able to stay awake for the 8-12 hours it...

Staying awake in Entry // Exodus?

Just wondering how people handle staying awake during the long-ass wait times for Entry // Exodus? Last year, what with the traffic stopped from outside Empire, It took us upwards of 11 or so hours to get in, Then 13 or 14 on Exodus. I don't REALLY remember the exact times but they were somewhere in...

They've stressed they're going to refund up until the 18th of August. I'd say go with the burner express bus and get your refund. Don't leave it to chance.
