Like the others have mentioned, fishing line of the lightest weight (maybe 5 or 10 lbs?) sown works perfectly and holds up well through many years of wear.

I've gone on random times throughout the week and never waited more than 10 minutes. The wait is pretty entertaining, so it always felt like it went pretty fast.

Re: Adult Trikes: Any recommendations?
I have a trike that’s of the Monterey brand 3-speed that I purchased new through Craigslist for $150, and rode on it all week on the playa last year. I also installed an electric motor (to assist me with my freshly torn ACL) and it was the most comfortable ride I’ve ever had. It is very heavy, takes...

Black Box Pinot Noir and Cab Sauvignon are pretty delicious and goes pretty quickly at camp.
Although, one made from organic grapes would be awesome, I haven't been able to find any.

sipping kraken on ice all throughout the day is a good way to go. having a fruity drink to sip along with it makes it so much nicer. 'Jamaica' drink on ice (hibiscus flower tea mixed with sugar or any natural sweetener) is a nice combo. so delicious and refreshing!

This was interesting. Was anyone else in queue before noon? I clicked on the link a minute or two prior to noon and was put in queue. 50 minutes later, I was able to purchase tickets but no vehicle pass.

Try coconut water! It's packed with electrolytes, rich in potassium, cools body temperature, and even has a bit of sodium.

Wow, the hair clumps - gross! The worst moop I've seen so far was my birgin year. Our neighbors showed up Tuesday afternoon in their rented cars to their fully stocked pair of RV's full of yummy food, halloween costumes, and a bunch of other New Year's junk you can find at Party City. They put out t...

Re: BURNING MAN is going to be COLD
Like clocks, I'm a wuss when it comes to the cold. I found that ski socks and insulated leggings (with thin faux fur lining on the inside!) are AWESOME. Sometimes I'll bust out the ski gloves. In the tent at night, I sandwich myself between four thick blankets (the cheap ones at the border in Mexico...

Re: Will my bike get destroyed by the playa?
I took a new Micargi cruiser last year and it worked out well. Gave it a good wash and tune up right after getting back from the burn and still have had no issues with it. The year prior I took a mountain bike that I had purchased from craigslist and did the mistake of not making sure it was comfort...

First year we camped at 5:30+G. Didn't realize kidsville was nearby, and it was pretty quiet. It was nice to have quiet mornings, but it wasn't very lively during the day. We did have awesome neighbors and the porta potties were a block away so it wasn't too bad

Re: Tips for the High Maintenance Girlfriend
I would suggest bringing two tents. Tent One: is for sleeping and should be comfortable, include an air mattress, fan and led light. In the tent pockets it would be a good idea to have extra ear plugs and sleeping eye mask and an extra water bottle as well. Tent Two: could be the wardrobe/storage te...

- Completely surrender to all the experiences and lessons that the playa will bring. - Sometimes it's okay to want to seek solitude from your camp mates to take time to reflect or explore on your own. - Light your camp well so you can find it at night. - Shit happens! If the car breaks down or the R...
