Re: To a more enlightened environment...
I love Bill Bailey's standup routine about Glastonbury, including his closet full of festival leftovers that had him rolling HIS eyes and wondering why in all blue hells he bought the stuff.

That doesn't constantly construct SEP fields around everything.
The old "leave it for somebody else" routine... at Glastonbury.

And in this design - chocolate cake and Oreos on top, vanilla cake and ladyfingers on the bottom. Could be changed to almost anything.

The big danger is having it end up like a classic '80's mix tape - full of songs that mean everything to you and...typically...nothing to anyone else.

Re: Man Clothes
I started off thinking I would follow a theme, then things just grew organically from what I bought from the thrift shops. That wraparound black skirt that didn't go all the way around? A piece of that white taffeta off that wedding dress bottom I liberated from a trash pile in my neighborhood, fold...

Re: What's the deal with boots
I am currently working on three outfits, with a bunch more that are really just, as the Monty Python show said, "Putting one thing on top of another thing." When I went to the thrift stores, I didn't think "outfits", I thought either "plain and ready to be decorated" or "zoWEE, that's awesome!" Thos...

Just have to concentrate on not setting anything ON fire...:) Found one more bit tucked inside the materials I rescued - a "lab coat" for a nail salon. It has the same look as that Oriental-style robe I got at Goodwill that was deep blue on one side and flourescent green on the other, except this on...

And then, what I thought was a failed bit of fluff turned out to be a flower girl dress turned inside out. Purple velvet with little white roses. I know there are places where you can bring outfits you don't need or want anymore. Do they have something like that for the kids?

Re: 2nd Big "Rescue" - and how do women do it?
Yeah, me too. It IS crazy heavy, though, and no layers to separate to make it lighter. The trim is something else. My biggest problem is I don't have a sewing machine. And synthetics shed like mad when you cut them. Hot glue to the rescue, I guess. I did notice with an earlier project (a vest made o...

I did figure out what that "thing" is - it's a wedding dress train that's about 12 feet long.
