Re: Theme camp map

Avoid the blue flags, those are for placed camps (as far as I know) Later in the week free spaces closer to the Esplanade will become available I always enter the city as close to gate opening as possible. The past couple of years have been a sea of land grab with everything from blue flags (legit)...

Shyte. I saw that without even realizing it was colored for placement. Seems a bit... fuzzy this year.

Did the Org release the usual camp map with the purpled out areas showing where placed camps are versus open camping areas?

Last year my girlfriend brought small evaporative cooling towels for us to help with the morning heat. She also bought cool touch mats. The combo of the two were surprisingly effective.

Re: In Tent Fans

Chiming in encouraging a shade structure... even a small one just to keep the morning sun off of your tent will make a world of difference. Monkey hut it up. A few lengths of PVC, some rebar, shade cloth & bungees. You'll be very happy that you did it. A fan is just going to be pushing hot air around.

I agree in general. However last year there was a guy in a suit & Trump mask standing in a cage. People were taking turns banging on the cage with a stick while "Trump" recoiled & cowered. I thought it was funny.

Re: Ticket... Gamble?!

Echo to the wait comments. However, if circumstances may change that make you unable to attend in future years, just plan to go. Tickets always pop up in the waning months/weeks before the event for well below $1,200. People sell them at a loss every year. If you want to go, plan to go. You will alm...

Re: Two Pre-Sale Tickets and Vehicle Pass - $2250US

I'll be curious to see if pre-sale tickets end up being sold below face value as the event draws near. If memory serves me right, in past years, pre-sale tickets could be purchased a fair bit below face value. It seems like every ticket sale thread that has popped up on the boards this year for pre-...

Re: Catching a Thief

AC, This is not a new suggestion. I've seen the debate and several mean ideas. That's what they are. Mean. Personally, would you crack someone's skull open or break their wrist for taking your bike? Some people would. If the answer is yes, (and understand I am not asking for your answer), then go a...

Thoughts, please. In the name of tomfoolery, combined with punishment for low down dirty scoundrels out stealing bikes, I've been wanting to do something like this for years. One lag bolt with some parachord tied to the rear of a bait bike. Would this make me an asshole or a participant? Stolen Bike...

Re: VP Order Cancelled?! Rant

I understand your frustration, but don't fret. There will be tons of these popping up for sale as the event approaches. Make all of your plans as normal and pay attention to the for sale board here. People often buy extra VP's "just in case" and then as plans materialize, they sell what they don't n...

To echo EGAZ's point on contribution Karma. I put in the work for my camp and for the city. I create on my own without relying on some camp I found on the interwebs to lay the foundation for me. Re: [IMHO] BMC ticket sale process is broken!

Every year there are threads with people making suggestions for how to fix the "broken" ticket process. This is the absolute worst one I've ever read. I'm not joining some stupid f*cking camp just so I can go to the event. I camp with my friends and family. We do our own thing. We are self-reliant. ...

Crude Awakening is the best thing I ever missed. Looks amazing in the videos. Best thing I ever saw was the playa for the first time on the first night of my first burn. Pedaling out from camp after finishing our set up after dark, crossing the esplanade for the first time and seeing the splendor of...

Re: OK so what the hell did I miss (the good old days)?

There was a lot more nudity. A whole lot more.... People felt like they COULD behave however they wanted, without it being broadcast to the internet... Cameras had to be tagged and registered! It was heavily frowned upon to take photos or video without consent. My girlfriend & I were actually talki...

6'3" 239 LBS.... coincidentally ONE POUND below what would make him "obese" according to the body mass index chart. Seems legit. He looks like a slab of solid granite carved with a diamond.

If you're looking for something easy and delicious, look into Tasty Bites (http://tastybite.com/). Boil water, throw the bag in (unopened) & let it heat up for a few minutes. Serve and enjoy. Really tasty food, minimal cleanup required. Plus on cold nights, something warm in your tummy hits the spot.

I look at my 401(k) and it has appreciated nearly $400,000 since Donald Trump was elected. Considering it would have likely lost around $100,000 if Mrs. Clinton had been elected. I've used the same ribs for 6 straight burns. They're permanently bent for sure, but they still flex and don't seem brittle. They'll be bent once the hut is constructed so I personally don't feel any need to either straighten or replace mine.

There were a few REEEEEAAAAALLY cold early morning bike rides back to camp. I remember that! . . . The playa emptied out faster and more ste...

I retape ALL seams EVERY year. The bifilament tape loses its stickiness more than you may realize. It may hold up just fine but in my mind, the expense of a couple rolls of tape each year for my shelter is worth it.

I am sure there are some "recreational substances" that cash would be needed for... maybe your short stint in jail when the undercover cop dressed as a panda bear supposedly selling cheap pills busts your dumb ass.
