SLAYER Camp needs you! (and your vehicle pass)
I gifted my little brother a ticket to his first burn. I'm SO stoked he's coming with us. But alas, he can't join me for early arrival and I don't have an extra vehicle pass. I'm hoping someone in the ePlayaverse may have a spare or a connection. Happy to pay in whatever your preferred means of rece...

Re: YAY! Ticket info is here!
Thanks for the heads up ACfromSAC! Just curious, but it seems to add up to a total of 57,000 tickets for sale. Perhaps another three or four thousand for their new "Community Action & Initiative" plan (whatever that is) and then another one thousand for the "Invitation to the Future" crowd. So... i...

Part of me hopes it lives on, because of all of the obvious reasons (the art, the lasers, the city, the energy, the fires, the neighborhoods... the tradition) Part of me hopes it dies, because of all of the obvious reasons (the airport, the plug & plays, the elites, the spectators, the segways... th...

BLM would be extremely shortsighted if they don't do a hard closure. I would be shocked if that's the case. However, if it's not closed... I'll probably be there.

Sure makes my open camp experience with friends & burners I've met along the way seem like the right way to go. Drink, be merry, serve drinks to strangers, play loud heavy metal, drink some more, serve some more, see art, make art, make friends, go home happy.

I see me! This is very cool. I always enjoy finding my camp in the satellite pic. This rendering is better than any of the previous satellite pics I've seen. Thanks for sharing.

Bad. Ass. When/where is this epic sounding Heavy Metal Happy hour??? Monday - Friday 5:55 to 6:66 (7:06 for the layman) at Slayer Camp. We’ve never put in for placement -regretting that this year with the minimal open camping area- but we usually aim for somewhere between 6 & 9, I & K. Look for the...

I know Will Call is a bit of a disorganized clusterfuck... but man waiting on international delivery seems like a stressful ordeal. Especially with having to hope for delivery before flights and whatnot. The ticket fairy shall come through! It will be the best mail delivery you receive all year.

Re: I still don't understand blue flags and placed vs. unplaced
Right after gates open, there is space on the corners next to the portos. Maybe I'm being posh, but I can't bring myself to camp near the portos. I've experienced too many afternoon wind gusts wafting the smell of other people's hot shit into the air to do it. They are definitely prime targets for ...

Re: I still don't understand blue flags and placed vs. unplaced
Last year it was very difficult to find anything open early Sunday, this year will be flagged all the way out. Last year we got in less than an hour after gates opened & we had a hard time finding a 20 foot wide sliver of open land to set up our small camp. As much as I worry it may result in confl...

Re: open campers - weds arrival - are we hosed?
The likelihood of there being street front property available is likely zero. I would say your best odds are to look on the interior of the open camping blocks & try to find some open land in the middle of the block off the street. There tends to be SOME of that still available here & there but the ...

Re: Placement 2019-2020
90-95% of requests are granted. For Maths, let’s call that 92.5% Not counting Villages ... 1750 x .925 = 1618 placed camps. 32000 DGS tickets. Divide the two numbers and you get ~ 20 tickets per placed camp on average. 32000 / 1618 =~ 20 So please tell me, what kind of fucking awesome could you bui...

Re: Placement 2019-2020
Last year was brutal for those of us who enjoy open camping in the suburbs. I was in the city less than an hour after the gates opened and already the vast majority of open camping was being held. This year is gonna be tough for us peons.

Re: Experiences buying Limited/DaVinci/FOMO/EXPENSIVE tickets in aftermarket?
Buying them is easy. They sell out but there is no mad rush, as their is for Main sale tickets. People are always able to sell them to other burners if they have extras. Prior to last year, many sellers were forced to sell the presale/DiVinci/FOMO tickets for less than what they paid for them, espec...

Re: Misappropriation and commodification of BM camps
I'm ok with this. They're not using Burning Man or any related / peripheral event related subject matter to promote themselves, just the name of their art car. I've seen other camps / art cars do similar things as fund raisers. If the flyer said something like "Your favorite Burning Man art car!" or...
