Re: Deep Playa Potty Map?

I thought of Travel Johnny too. I carry one in my pack and my car when traveling. Indeed, I cannot recommend these enough to carry with you juuuuuuust in case. Unused, they're very compact and are pretty durable while stored in a pack. Used, they do a very good job in absorbing and containing urine...

Re: Best food in Reno!

If you're staying at/near the airport (as I do), Crawfish Asian Cuisine (Plumb Lane, near 395) was seriously good. Even as someone who is as picky as I am about my seafood (and Chinese food, for that matter), this place has impressed me every time I've gone.

Re: 2018 Survival Guide pdf

The webpage now throws this popup: "The Survival Guide is mandatory reading for everyone attending Burning Man. Feel free to read last year’s while we work on the 2018 version, but be sure to check back as there are important updates each year." Huh...it seems rather late to still be working on the ...

Re: Fixing/replacing Bottom bracket on huffy Cranbrook bike?

Here is another eBay box of ten bearings (5 bikes). https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sunlite-Bearing-Sunlt-Bb-66-10X5-16-1Pc-Bxof10-/153029649283?hash=item23a1472383 These are called #66 bearings. #64 will also work, but are technically only for vintage Schwinn and a few other relics. Thanks for the bearin...

We are moving! Our new placement is 3:00 G Plaza. I do not know if this is a promotion or demotion -- or lateral. Indeed...we have been moved more center and now live at D (& 4:45), unsure of the juju they use to make determinations on some placements...as always, expecting the unexpected (but gene...

Re: Sealed wheel bearings for Cruisers?

My new Cranbrook seized up (pre-Playa BB treatment slipped my mind) but I was able to keep it going with some cleaning/grease. But at least one is obviously damaged (there's actually a strip of metal poking out of the gap on the left side) so my next project will be replacement. Thank you for all th...

Some neat ideas, glad it worked out for you. Seems like you did quite well on the work / play ratio! Feedback: "duct tape to fix the reflective foam outside the car." - Blue painter's tape works a treat! Get quality tape, however. Alternate windows shades are using inexpensive mylar emergency blanke...

70,000 divided by 5000 = 14.

So one out of every 14 people left a bike on the playa...........GREAT!!!

We use a collapsible wagon attached to the back of a bike for our ice runs...(though I think the one we have is slightly beefier and/or has larger wheels)

See a doctor! That said; I've had the same thing happen to me and it eventually goes away. Right now, post-burn, my right toe is pretty numb on the left side. Most noticeable in the shower, where the floor is cooler. The area is getting blood flow but no feeling. My guess is that it's a combination ...

Keep in mind that any lights that use PVC to coat their wires--fairy lights included--have a good chance that they have lead on/in the coating and likely well beyond the limit set by the EPA or state standards. Lead is used on wire covering to keep the plastic from cracking, as well as it being a fl...
