I still have plenty of playa dust in my nose - I don't need any more crap up there. I'm glad you had a great burn. I imagine you got a great spot in r...

What was the justification for BLM SUVs speeding?

Right about the time the man fell on Saturday, several BLM trucks suddenly lit up and started racing across the crowded open playa at break-neck speeds. It takes a while but you'll find your place. Some things that help:

Sitting out front and engaging the people that walk by.

Taking a walk without a purpose to your stride. Bring a bag for moop collection too.

planning for next year.

Good luck!

Q: How many days should you plan to allot for Burning Man?

A: Take the number of days at and traveling to the event and double it to account for prep and decompression.

I've found that the BLM SUVs make a nice receptical for MOOP. Of course, you have ask nicely if they have a trash bag but they usually consent.

Correction

My campmate pointed out that we don't use kandykanes™ but rather plain old straight rebar. It seems we tried them but they kept to turning into spirals when you pound them in. Maybe it was us but I think you have to use ½" for Kanes™ to hold up. Unfortunately, to fit through the holes in the pole ba...

My experience

The last three years I've had ~20lbs of dry ice evaporate to about 5 over the course of 6 days. I store it in a simple stryofoam shipping box with about 2 dozen Its It and Eskimo pies on top. I'm very popular for about half an hour on Sunday afternoon.

Prepare for rain

You can drive yourself crazy trying to predict the future. Relax. Prepare for rain and deal with it when it comes. Try not to put too much stock in those voodoo weather medicine men...just look what they did for Florida!
