Hi,
Last time we went our shower evap sucked. I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how to set up a simple shower evap for a shower for 4-5 people.
Not looking for anything fancy just something that works well and is easy setup and tear down if possible.

Re: Help with DIY cold wear
For night, you can buy thrift coats and easily hand stitch or safety pin faux fur or whatever exotic fabric to. Another idea is to collaborate with local people you might meet in the BM community who have fabric and fashion ideas/crafty skills. i'll have to start hunting through the thrift stores. ...

Re: Help with DIY cold wear
My favorite night time cold wear is lounge / pajama pants made from fleece. if it gets really cold I wear long johns under them. the missus tends to get cold easily. We've been wrapped up in two layers of long johns and she was still cold. Wondering if fleece would be warm enough? Any suggestions f...

Help with DIY cold wear
I was thinking of making my own cold wear for the nights. I was wondering if anyone else has made night clothing and can point me towards tips, resources, advice on this. I am new to sewing and this may be an overly ambitious project. But, since I am on a really tight budget this year I was thinking...

I have recently moved but my 24x20 playa shade structure is still down in SF. I am looking for any camps that might have room to transport the structure to the burn. Here is what needs to be transported (24x20): http://wpstore.formandreform.com/kit-info/ Contact me if you have space to see if we can...

I do love simplicity but would take wood and other natural building materials over steel and glass.southern crone wrote:Not often, I do love a good antique auction.
TPBM would rather have modern minimalist.

Re: Seeking Cheap White Dome Covering Material
Hi, One of the routes our group is considering right now is not having a single cover for the dome instead creating triangles which would fit onto the bolts at each hub and overlap each other. So for our pros and cons are as such: Pro: -look cool -easy to switch out panels if damaged -easy to create...

Re: Seeking Cheap White Dome Covering Material
Another fabric to consider is Dacron (polyester). It is used for sailcloth. It is what SS uses for dome covers. Comes in colors and is fairly rain repellent, making for multi season use, some versions are UV resistant for many year use. @greycoyote, I like the zipper idea! What gauge zipper, how lo...

FIGJAM: SOunds like a good idea to me. Couple questions so i understand better. How long are the lag bolts? Are you screwing thing directly into the playa and they are holding? Is the rope attached to the lag bolts and stretched between? Do you put this sloped tarp on all three sides or only the win...

What do you think of using tarps nailed into the ground with 2x4's angled up to the height of the shade structure. Basically what I see in the picture above but on all 3 sides?

Re: Seeking Cheap White Dome Covering Material
My gf actually cam up with the idea. We weren't going to be able to weatherproof the canvas anyway so the rain was something that we were going to have to deal with no matter what fabric. We were also thinking of maybe putting a couple rings of tyvek in between the jersey and the structure. This wou...

While I was looking into canvas I came across the idea of football mesh and was wondering if anyone had ever used it or what your thoughts might be on it? https://www.nickoftime.net/p-1917-white-football-mesh-knit-fabric.aspx I know that it won't be weatherproof and the holes will allow dusty in. Re: Seeking Cheap White Dome Covering Material
So first thanks for all of the help so far on this. Really trying to keep the price down but everywhere I look it seems I will be spending at least 1000$ on any fabric i buy. Does this sound reasonable? Looked into Tyvek and it looks like a great deal and might work but ours is a sound project and I...

Re: Side Coverings
But your best bet would be to create say two walls that you can easily move around. That way you can adjust as the day progresses or you may find some convenient RV neighbors who shade you or provide wind breaks. How did you create walls you could move easily? I was going to use shade cloth and aff...
