Re: Going Alone...
I'll be going solo this year and I think it has many pitfalls if you don't plan ahead well in advance, but also has the reward of complete freedom to be yourself or whoever you want to be during BM :) Remove as many obstacles that could potentially ruin your week by planning everything meticulously....

Re: Fuckin' A
I wasn't sure if we had a thread that is the opposite of the Fuck thread so I started this one for happier news. Today I can finally get back to posting after a grueling 3 week move of my business. Even better - I can now go to work in my PJ's since I had to move the business back home. Hopefully t...

Re: Laying it down at the Temple
We all have our little personal disasters, but lately I keep thinking "I am SO going to burn this at the Temple". I have even started keeping a list. And it makes me feel wierdly better. WTF? Anybody else like this? Or am I just broken that way? No wonder organized religions are so popular....

Re: challenging "the Temple"
Like any city, BRC should cater for the requirements of its citizens, but it is equally the responsibility of all its citizens to decide what is necessary from year to year. Definitely worth the discussion WE ARE THE CITY! OUR TICKET DOES NOT PAY FOR OUR ACCOMMODATION, IT PAYS FOR US BEING THERE!!!...

Re: challenging "the Temple"
Don't know if I would fit in the temple. I have had many loses, but they are the past. I have dealt with them. I want to go to BMan to celebrate life and my 64 tour ") I can cry at a fucking movie on tv, but you will probably only see smiles on me at BRC (unless someone tells me to shush and mind m...

Re: Tips for Shy People at Burning Man
Some people also confuse shy with private. My socially anxious spouse has really loosened up since we started going to the burn. He is still extremely private. Unfortunately he's married to me, and I tend to blab. However, he's gotten better at saying "hey! that's private." Still undecided on if th...

Re: Tips for Shy People at Burning Man
2012 was my virgin year, and I had MANY of the same concerns expressed here before I went, but I made a rule for myself that if something appealed to me but I was hesitant about it (like talking to that cool looking stranger over there) then I would force myself to do it. I stuck to this rule the w...

Re: Playa Boots
Don't bother. Even when I had feet, I wore pretty plain, pretty practical stuff. I don't know why I hang out in this thread, but it's not about me and footwear. how about a hug then? I think you might like one maybe, or something that you might cherish, like a nice book? I am quite aware you...

Re: whats with the hippie/raver hate
Robe, sheppard's crook and lantern, searching for an honest man. Or carrying stone tablets. Countless possibilities. But I had to work with the outfit and props I had readily available. Life is good. :D Elliot you need to just consider this a bit more for the main event this year :D Sheppard leadin...

Re: Tips for Shy People at Burning Man
To be honest my main concern is being able to open up to complete strangers :( I am going for a particular personal reason but that is only part of the experience and something I do not want to dwell on when I get out there. I'll be there on my lonesome and I just hope I can find some like minded pe...
