Fish Out of Water Camp

Fish Out of Water is coming back to TTITD for 2026. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, we brought Bacon Tamales. This year we are going to serve something different. I am working on a recipe that is reminiscent of boudin, but uses bread stuffing as a base, instead of rice. More experimentation to follow...

In 2025, we were devotees. This is a very good group. And we listened to BMRI radio daily. Also very fun and informative.

Fish Out Of Water Camp: Good Dog Stir Fry

"Fish Out of Water" camp will be returning. :D
We are changing the menu from tamales to fried rice/stir fry.
Grey Coyote and Sunbeam still leading the parade to culinary whimsy.
Would love additional camp mates.

We might make a short video to submit to "Uncle Roger".

Re: God Bless BURGINS!!

Ratty - I love you, and yeah, it was my first year. But I have been camping a lot, and we used those skills to make it happen. Elliot was a great resource. And our enthusiasm overcame all obstacles - that is what Burgins DO :) ;) We were a group of five. Grey Coyote, Sadie, Kowtow, and Chuck... and ...

Re: God Bless BURGINS!!

Last year was my Burgin year. I had been planning to go for four years... so I had lurked eplaya a lot. Decided it wasn't for me several times. Absorbed the information, and ignored the negativity. We put on a hell of a first burn. Fed over 1,000 tamales. Nearly a 1,000 ice pops. Disco shower. Contr...

Re: Flattop shade design questions

Elliot's flat top isn't all flat, it wedges up around Millicent. We brought in a standard EMT flat top and tied on. His supports are huge. In prior testing, in Texas, on the driveway, we had some bounce. That is the wind would lift the entire structure. We beefed up the tie downs, and reduced the la...

Re: DAMN CAT

Cats will lie to you. I just got back from a 4 day campout with some BM friends, and my cats told me they had NEVER been fed while I'm gone.
But A) I know they were because a good friend was doing it, and B) I know they were by the volume in the cat food bin.
Cats will lie....

Re: ePlaya Pets

I have lots of chicken survival stories. Almost all roosters. One year it rained roosters. We had a big rain storm, and the next morning there was a greentailed rooster on the front porch. Kinda ordinary, but missing some feathers. So I built him a cage, got a couple of hens from the feed store - th...

Re: ePlaya Pets

Robbidobbs - I LUV chickens. :) We had a rooster, a bantam black cochin, which means a feathered black bowling ball with an attitude. He got sideways with something, and whatever that something was BIT HIS TAIL OFF. Of course, it took a couple of days to find him, and it was gangrenouos, and awful. ...

This is for Doc - sorry about the tardiness of a reply, i am not as often on eplaya as some times earlier. You asked - what's the problem? I took that as you having not seen that i wasvecaggerating. But let me answer in a more relevant way. BLM is a government entity. Repubs are now going to run the...

Re: PANIC!! Button of DOOOOOM!

Doc - I met you this year's burn. I can't believe that the hyperbole, intentionally wrong and disgusted post above, was believed to be anything but what it is. That is how ridiculous the results from last night were. In Texas, a cripple who discriminates against cripples, a man who is admittedly rac...
