Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
Hi Chuck That's a great offer! How big are your batches? Maybe i can calculate my receipe to your batchsize and send you the needed stuff from here and my formula? Then you can create a wonderful Hefeweizen Munich Style (natural muddy - sounds terrible in english - but i am sure you will love it) :D...

Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
Sorry for being that late, i owe this answer: Unfortunately my beer did not find the way to the playa. I was in trying to ship as a gift to one burner friend from OE Camp. Unfortunately i had a technical problem. My lightweight containers were too light, they started to blow up 2 weeks prior shippin...

Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
I think there is a regulation which gives me no more free than 1 liter of beer to take with (plus ANY amount of liquor what i have buyed AFTER the security check in the duty free store ... ) So it will be probably the 30 kg package with DHL (and without Sprengkapseln :-) ) ... what costs me a good b...

Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
Leave the phrases in German, it's nicer that way! Jawohl, gnädige Frau! I would go with the flight... Check between connections if possibly to make sure your bag was put on the next flight (depending on your layover time)... You could also fly into SF so you have a direct flight and out of Reno, wh...

Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
Now i have to play "Wheel of Fortune" either sending a Box via DHL to my arriving hotel (with chance for my beer to get a sun tan like mentioned above) or giving up a second suitcase when flying in and getting it not through security somewhere.... well i have to choose one death which i have to die ...

Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
It seems that Delta changed their overweight policy a bit backwards, so now it looks as i can get another suitcase with me with a very special inner life....

Re: Bonjours, c'est moi, le Matou
The post office just isn't as professional as it was back when it was a real government agency. I'd go with the hotel as well. Isn't that more or less what a concierge is for? But then you are obliged to stay at that hotel. So it depends on multiple factors. So as i am renting a RV i have to stay t...

Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
So yeah, shipping beer from Germany is pretty cool. Selfmade of course. Cooler, i think If it were me, I'd work "Homebrewed in Germany, by me" into every conversation. I already had similar thoughts in my mind, i'll take this as an very serious advice of a respected veteran burner - YES MA'AM...

Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
@earthwalker the idea in shipping my own beer is indeed to bring a spcial Gift for you playa folks. This is my art, the 500 year old beer purity law craftet to something awesome and given to the community :-) of course I would drink some west coast beers, I sooner had the possibility to taste some d...

Re: Import Taxes to Nevada
I am thinking about sending 5 gallons, what gives me 20kg of weight, what is the maximum fitting in one box (or the next and biggest size would be 30 kg, so 7 gallons) - is this a small amount or ... who knows ? i have found out a tax rate of some cents for malt drinks and maybe 25 cent for a gallon...

Would you prefer sending a 30 kilo package over the atlantic to a hotel (in Las Vegas) or directly to the BRC post office?

Hi Savannah
Spatula is nothing too weird. It's my brewing paddle, self-brewing is a little hobby to me.
My last brew is very tasteful and deadly - for the snails in my garden

Thanks for the hearty Welcome. @graidawg: And do not worry about french, english is absolutely fine for me. It might sound kinky if we talk vice versa, but that's another thing... absinthe?? *g* planning to bring (plenty) beer of my area, which is famous for the biggest beer fest.... try one with me...

Bonjours, c'est moi, le Matou
Hello y'all you nice people out there! I am Matou, and virgin in the Context of burning man. After two mates from me joined this experience 2 years ago and had so much to tell about, they infected me, and so i plan - for now - to join the community in this year.
