Their owners appearently belived that shouting angry commands to the animals *after* they had annoyed people (if they even noticed), was having their dog "under control". A note on bicycles - use junkers, and bring locks. The alkali desert dust is hard on them, and many get stolen.

Don't get me wrong. I've got Scottish ancestry - and Irish - and English. Small wonder that I'm sometimes at war with myself.

I've always felt that the broader a theme is the better. The more room for bizarre tangents and unthought of connections, the better it has done it's job. Of course, the best theme would be none at all, but failing that, it is always within our power to broaden it, satirize it, or ignore it.
