Re: Fire Spinning Fuel
Yeah the safety guide refers to large storage, barrels. With distance requirements of 10' from a vehicle or tent. The fuel will be used for fire spinning, that is soaking kevlar wicks in above said fuel and, well, spinning them. I have over one years experience storing handling and lighting this fue...

Storing Fire Spinning Fuel
The fuel I use is 50/50 white camp fuel and white torch oil. In the interest of storing these fuels properly I'd like to ask from anyone with experience if I should have any concerns or take any out of the ordinary precautions for the burn. I've never stored fuel in the desert before.

Re: HexaYurts
I browsed this thread looking for an answer but I was not satisfied. How reusable are hexayurts? Made from 1" insulation foam, R-max or similar, 6 inch bi-fi tape and foil tape protection. Is this something I could store and use year after year, or is it very likely this structure is barely going to...

Re: Kava
I am putting energy towards being able to bring and serve 'awa (kava) at my camp. I have worked with the plant and love it as a drink, It is subtle but a week is a good length of time to get rooted.

Yes I read it correctly but I didn't get how the 2x4's help the yurt.

Re: Easier to transport stretch yurt
That is impressive of you. I have packed this car with more then I thought she'd hold more then once, but I cannot fit a 8x4 sheet of anything. Challenge brings innovation though.

Re: Easier to transport stretch yurt
The folded down backseat of a toyota carolla. I am leaving about a month before the even and will be carrying my hexayurt the entire time, having it strapped to my roof will hurt my gas mileage to much. The design in model works really well, and after hearing some wind storm stories I am feeling pre...

Re: Easier to transport stretch yurt
I am currently working on a 6' stretch hexayurt that folds like an accordion, The hinges work so that they buckle outside and not inside. Won't let me post the picture but maybe you can get it from the description: front and back 8' panels are cut into 2' 4' 2' sections, the 2' sections folding into...

New on the Playa
My name is Red, I will be new on the Playa this year. I'm drawn there by the stories of friends and a love of the sun. Praise unto the sun! I'll be traveling from New Jersey to the west coast before moseying into the desert.
