Re: Any UK burners from the North of England?

Ooh - thank you! That's a start!

I'm surprised at how few Burners there seem to be from up here!

Mind you....Burning Man is tedious so perhaps not that surprising.... :D

Any UK burners from the North of England?

Hi all - just wondering if there's any burners from up north....especially Manchester/Liverpool. Seems all the UK based burning man events seem to happen down south....surely i'm not the only burner from Manchester?!!

Re: Burner Express - only using half the round trip??

Thank you - That was my interpretation as well pretty much.....I guess the thing that left a lingering question mark for me was whether the initial ride (even if it was on a bus you weren't scheduled on) would produce a ticket or wristband or something that was needed for the return portion. I suppo...

Re: Burner Express - only using half the round trip??

Another question actually.......... my address has changed since I bought the ticket - is that likely to be an issue when I try and pick up the bus?

(I also asked ticket support this some time ago)

Re: Travel Insurance - UK to US

I'm doing the same thing (hunting for a decent policy). At the moment i'm trying to get a sensible answer from the BMC (British Mountaineering Council) as to which (if any) of their policies will suit. For me - the key thing about insurance for trips that involve some actual risk..is how well they r...

Hi all - i'm driving myself NUTS trying to get some decent info on this so I thought I'd ask you good people 8) Any local advice is very welcome :o) There is literally nothing on your list you couldn't find in Reno, and probably easier. REI is literally less than half of a mile from the Reno Airpor...

Re: Camping supplies in SF and/or Reno?? (I'm from UK)

If you borrow someone's bike on the playa you could just by ice there. Shipping stuff ahead is advisable - as for food bring only what you know you will eat. One camp with a couple guys seriously only brought cans of beans and liquor) :!: Around the playa there are lots of camps giving food away ( ...

Thanks for the heads up on Save Mart Catman....much appreciated.

As for the rebar thing, I'm definitely not doing that. I've read so much about alternatives and how much of a pain rebar is. For me it'll be extra long, tough, tent stakes, hammered flush to the ground. :)

Many thanks for the additional info folks..especially the bit about ice water. That could make a huge difference. Could anyone tell me how much it costs? (And what it's supplied in?) Just so i'm prepared.

Utter garbage - I remember chasing this up when they first announced it. It is essentially just a meal replacement formula and in that respect..no different to teh hundreds of other, much cheaper, tried and tested options that exist elsewhere. There is no magic gimmick to this stuff beyond the name ...

Cheers rmc50 - I'm considering teh Walmart idea but would prefer to avoid them if possible - and yes....I'd rather not rely on anywhere in Reno being fully stocked for my needs if I can avoid that! Hopefully I'll have pretty much everything I need except my list above (Don't really fancy taking 12" ...

Re: Burner Express with Will Call under someone elses name

Right - well it's all resolved. I am truly in awe of how quickly and professionally this got sorted out (given how busy they likely are and the fact that they needed to coordinate between two separate people) So - the resolution was.... they're sending the tickets to a friend in the US. We will all ...

Burner Express with Will Call under someone elses name

Hi all - so this is my first burn (sadly missed last years......soooo close). At the moment; I'm planning to arrive via the Burner Express bus from Reno. I have a camp to stay with, I'm also contributing to another camp. I've got my head around what I need to bring....and so far I'm ok with all of t...
