CampDIY considering a few additional burners
CampDIY is entering its 4th year as a placed camp. The last three years we have been on 6:00 between D and E. Our group of 30 is a mix of veteran and new burners from San Diego and Bay Area, as well as some from as far as Texas, Hawaii and Toronto. We are fairly low key on the party intensity scale....

Re: Camp DIY Is Open to New Members during April 2014
No offense but....Does EVERYTHING have to be a fuckin' learning experience. I will NEVER go to a 'workshop' at burning man. Don't get me wrong. I learn a bunch while I'm there but it's by osmosis. Why have workshops when there is life to live and fun to be had? It's a week vacation in the desert, n...

Camp DIY Is Open to New Members
Camp DIY (yes, as is Do It Yourself) is going into its third year, and would be happy to discuss who we are and if anyone interested would be good camp mates. Last year we had 28 people. This year we are applying for 30-40. We were very fortunate to be placed at 6:00 and E in 2013, and are hoping fo...

Sometimes by Friday or Saturday there are a few flys. I think they come with the poop pumpers.

Re: dry ice
My experiential pros and cons on this. I brought dry ice the first year I went in 2009. Pro: Dry ice is excellent at freezing every thing in your cooler solid and keeping that way a long time. Cons: It takes a lot to go several days. You can find calculations for it online, but when I started my coo...

Re: A/C for small travel trailer?
I hate it went I get advice on message boards that actually isn't within the scope of my question. Nevertheless, I have to at least suggest because we love this thing so much. A company called Turbokool makes a 12 volt Evaporative Cooler that (other than having to go up on the roof to clean the wet ...

Re: Camp DIY Open to New Members
We've probably maxed out our population at this point for the allotted space. If you really really think we'd be the right camp for you, we might be able squeeze another tent, but we'd encourage you to look else where too.
Oh, and thanks to Trilobite for tireless moderation of all these boards.

Kid friendly? Hum. Hardly hostile. But hers would be the only kid there. We could talk but would probably recommend looking else where.

Re: Camp DIY Open to New Members
Further about us to answer questions we received.
1) We do not require dues to be part of our camp.
2) We do generally expect you to be (mostly) self sufficient. We are CampDIY, not Camp "We will do it for you".

Camp DIY Open to New Members
Camp DIY (yes, as is Do It Yourself) is going into its second year, and would be happy to discuss who we are and if anyone interested would be good camp mates. Last year we had 12 people, and expect 8 to be back this year. We have applied for placement for 20 so we have room for new members. From ou...
