She didn't ever find him! But she has found a friend with an un-official goal of helping her find true love.

It's ok... I'll ignore it. I tried to correct a while ago, but apparently I reached my limit if edits!

Re: Plug n plays running amuk
Excuse me if this has already been said, I haven't read through all the replies, but our first principle is: "Radical Inclusion: Anyone may be a part of Burning Man. We welcome and respect the stranger. No prerequisites exist for participation in our community." I personally don't care how they get ...

Call this a little bit of Playa magic
On Wednesday (I think) I was walking alone in the Souk when a girl comes up to me and asks if my name was Daniel. I shook my head. Disappointed, she walked off. I made my way back around when she came up a second time asking the same question. Before I could answer, she goes "I asked you this alread...

Re: How To Plan Your Camp's Arrival After The Gates Open
Great post, Trilo! I wish that I had found something like this to read my birgin year - though to be fair, there was probably a similar post... but we all can't live on ePlaya, right? I've been searching around looking for some guide as to how fast the city fill up, but despite reading some great pl...

Re: Scream if you received a STEP ticket
While there's no time stamp, I do have a "vague idea" of when I entered the queue. Just thought it might be kind of useful to track this stuff here.

Re: Scream if you received a STEP ticket
I did, and aside from some info on how fast the queue might move, I did not see any tracking.

Re: Scream if you received a STEP ticket
Hey, can people who get STEP tickets also share when they entered the queue? I missed the notification and got in about 24 hours after the buyers queue opened. Knowing when people got in would give us a sense of how far into it the system is.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Missed Connections?
Is there a place on ePlaya to post "Missed Connections"? So many people come in and out of your life during the week of Burning Man, and rarely does Defaultia info exchange. Sometimes one might not even know how significant they were to another's burn through a random conversation, stray glance, or ...

Practical Camp Lighting
One good question and possibly one super dumb question: Good Question (I think): How much light do LED String lights put out? Such as this set http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007TSCW3E/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ALM27M18VEIRS I can't find a manufacturer specification on them. If I bu...

Power Needs = Batteries & Solar Panel???
Working on a two man camp with some basic power needs, and my head is spinning with all the different explanations of electrical thingamagigs. We'll have 2 famous figjam swamp coolers (though one will be using the cheap HF solar pump), and we wanted to string up some Christmas lights, and maybe have...

Re: Useful Physical "Training" for the Playa?
I'm 12 days into the diet and fitness routine. Hit my three mile stride last night a few days early... and I didn't die! I need to set new goals... I've been out on the asphalt almost everyday and have severaly cut back on my calorie intake. I'm no longer randomly shoving food in my mouth just becau...

Playa Endurance Building
That's what I'm calling it. To others it may be a workout, fitness routine or just plain healthy livin', but I've decided that BM was the perfect reason to start running again and maybe eat a bit better. I'd like to be able to rage with the best of them out on the playa, so I'm going to do what I ca...

Re: Hello and Welcome... What's your name? Tell me about You
Hey folks... heard about Burning Man back in college and have always wanted to go. Life got in the way, but after about a decade-plus detour, I've made it back and committed to 2013 being the year I make the trek. Strangely, what prompted me was the "Oh, The Places You'll Go" BM video... a story tha...

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Found the perfect birgin Playa-wear leather and fur jacket at a garage sale for $2! Now I just need to deck it out. Also invited my childhood best friend to join my adulthood best friend and I at BM this year. Couldn't think of two better people to spend a week in surreality with! Hope she can make ...

Great information! Keep it coming. How does finding a site actually work? I mean, do you just drive up and down streets when you arrive looking for a place to squeeze in?

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I bought a pair of pink camo cargo shorts that seemed playa-appropriate (though admittedly I have no fucking clue what that really means) and a white faux-fur vest from a great consignment store in Lakeland. Also ask another question and got a little further into building my birgin knowledge base.

Past Camp Map / Arriving
Does anyone know of a high-rez map of past theme camp placements? Never been to BM before and I'm trying to figure out the flavor of various neighborhoods so I can make a good choice of where to try to land. I'm probably over thinking here, but there's a lot of information to digest. Also, does anyo...

Re: Parachute Shade Structure?
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I like the monkey-hut idea. Will be flying into L.A. from FL and will have a day and a half to figure out ...

Great insight Crypto! Saves me the time of trying to figure it out! Know of any creative ideas for large shade structures without spending a bazillion dollars? Do you have a good thread or link to share?

Parachute Shade Structure?
Hey folks - Does anyone have any experience using an old round parachute as a tent/shade structure? This is NOT to provide a sleeping habitat, just a center and shade structure. I'm thinking I could make a pretty sturdy tent with a center pole, some rope and rebar... but I know enough to ask about w...
