I think you've got an interesting idea here. I'm curious to see what kind of response you'll get. If it actually comes together I'd seriously consider participating.
Good luck.

a little follow up
Before last year's event I posted that I was hoping to do my first sober Burn instead of blacking out the whole thing like the year prior... Just wanted to put it out there that I spent ten days on the Playa in 2005 completely sober and had the time of my life. I am eternally grateful for the meetin...

Sobriety is fairly new for me too--since right after last years burn. I spent my whole 8 days fully wastado and blacked out most of my best times last year. I've been doing AA on a daily basis for about seven months now and look forward to meetings on the Playa. I went to a 4 day regional burn last ...

All done! It seemed like it was going to take more work than it did, but my 22' 2V thick-walled 3/4" conduit is all done. I still haven't got the space to do a test assembly, but next week at the Seattle area's big regional, Critical Massive, I'll give it a go. Just wanted to thank everyone in this ...

Why bang?
Maybe I haven't thought this through enough, but couldn't I just leave the ends of my 3/4" conduit round, drill holes, and use longer bolts and skip the whole namesake of this thread? Just an idea. I just found mountains of conduit at my local scrapyard far cheaper than Dome Depot.

I placed an ad on my local freecycle list for emt conduit and had a few pieces in less than an hour. In the same amount of time someone else sent me an e-mail to check at the local metal recyclers/scrapyard. I found about 75 20 foot long thick walled 3/4" emt pipes for 25 cents per pound--which work...

Are you serious about the Foam Party? I've only been to BM once (and I most definately will be back again--got my ticket) and I've been to several Foam Parties... it's just hard to imagine both of them together. Has it been done before on the Playa? It seems like it would all just turn to mud, be wa...

I've had dreads for 16 years and I've never done any maintainence on them on Playa or off--that's part of why I have them. It's just dust. While you're there you get used to everything being covered in it. One good shower when you get home pretty much takes care of it. A hat would probably help, but...

When I read posts about Burning Man not being what it used to be, it almost always includes comments about how there is not enough art--REAL art, whatever that is. I wouldn't normally call myself an artist, though I would say I'm fairly creative. I wasn't at Burning Man back in the day , last year w...
