you have the right idea. i did this on my building and it works fantastic. i used an old squrril cage fan out of a furnace, but i believe a roof turbine will work. if you choose a roof turbine for the drive make shure its a heavy duty one. i used an antenna stand for the frame to hold everything tog...

i might seem dumb, but i dont know what a swamp cooler is. please explain. whats it made out of? im guessing its round and like a dome. need more info.

how about a duct pipe that captures the wind and directs it into the space you are trying to cool? only moving part would be the inlet with a directional wind vane. i never thought of that. that is a good idea. i think what you would have to do is replace the fan blade on the inside with acold air ...
