Re: BRC on a motorcycle, a how to guide & FAQ

I quit carrying a tire iron years ago. I use my kickstand and the weight of the bike to break the bead. Compact tire tools do the rest just fine.

Ha never mind, I over looked the parody bit... And seems a bit unlikely but what do I know I've never been to BM. The Star Trek question still stands tho

Re: Tips for the High Maintenance Girlfriend

Funny one about ground rules about how much she can bitch, VultureChow. I can just picture myself trying to explain that she has passed the bitch threshold during an argument. I can suggest what works well when I get in arguments with my girlfriend. The three warnings system. When she going o...

Re: Tent Placement??

Hello again all, So as I'm still getting the hang of all this I have a some more questions. 1) I'm camping with a tent. Do I have to camp in the "walk-in camping area" 2:00 to 5:00 if I'm not apart of a community, village, theme camp etc? Not at all. Tents are all over the city. "Walk-In Camping" i...

Re: Tent Placement??

You can setup your tent anywhere camping is allowed, subject to not being in a reserved space, nor inside someone's camp. Check out reserved space in the map. http://www.burningman.com/preparation/maps/13_maps/index.html Walk-in camping is for those wanting to get away from RVs and other vehicles, ...

Re: Traveling by Motorcycle. Need storage!

Welcome to eplaya. Yes, as Savannah said, there are camps that have the basics, including some meals. You should figure on 2 gallons (or around 4 liters) of water per day. I would also suggest some energy bars in your saddle bag, just in case you get hungry. What day are you planning on arriving an...

Water stock up?

To all you veterans out there, Is water readily available in Gerlach? Or is my best bet in Reno. I'm arriving by motorcycle and have four 5 gallon bladders. Its about 172lbs of water. I'm trying to minimize my travel time with the additional weight on my bike. How well does the little town stock up ...

Re: BRC on a motorcycle, a how to guide & FAQ

Most Excellent!!! I'll be arriving on bike as well. I've been hunting a trailer but most are far to fancy for my needs. The harbor freight just might do the trick if my riding companion can't carry the needed supplies on his bike. I'm on a 1200GS Adventure and can carry quite a bit. My good mate is ...

Was it you or Noam that posted this morning? I think you were trying to figure out logistics? If this is your first post, WELCOME to eplaya! It was me that posted. This should have been my first post, but was in get shit done mode. And didn't fully read all that this site has to offer. This shit is...

Hello eplaya, new kid on the block from Nola

Hey hey! So I'm a birgen, and a virgin to many other things but I'm hoping to change all that in the land dubbed Burning Man. I just started on an epic motorcycle adventure which will bring me to the Artic Circle then all the way south to Argentina. Burning man is just a stop in the road but I antic...

I'm definitely a virgin to the BM experience. This year will be my first.

So now the obvious question. What's the deal with Wednesday night?

Traveling by Motorcycle. Need storage!

Hello all, This is my first year at burning man and I'm traveling by motorcycle with a friend also on his bike. The issue we're going to have is transporting enough water for the two of us for the week. I was wondering if anyone was willing to link up possibly in Reno which is where we'll stock up o...
