fuck! I posted my Mini Cooper disaster to the wrong thread! Yes it was mine. Yes it was new. Yes it was parked. Yes the snow plow won, and no, the city won't take responsibility. He apparently didn't see it....or perhaps he didn't even know he hit it. That is the official response. WTF ? Hit and run...

coffee
Make the hypercaffeinated coffee for two or three days, and just when the regulars are used to it, switch to decaf. Repeat as necessary. And now that nut allergies are everywhere... I've seen a convenience store here with a sign saying "Everything in this store may have come in contact with nuts". M...

Hello folks...looking for help or info. I had checked in some time back to see if the three of us from Nova Scotia could be part of all this....and everything seemed to be a go. But I didn't realize that there is a Stag Camp 2.0 until this morning..(tribe isn't used much in these parts). And for the...

don't chase the water trucks...
I've always been told not only should you not chase the trucks for your own health ( it is non-potable water) , but you shouldn't even walk or ride your bike across the wet road after it's been by. As someone pointed out earlier, it messes up the streets. Don't believe me? Think about it. The trucks...

still looking?
Try Lamplighter Village. Lots of Canadians there... Not only an amazing full on volunteer experience, but with their shade structure and kitchen it's an great spot for those flying in with limited gear. They work hard, but the perks are great. Beware the bar tho...your job in the bar is to encourge ...

Zaphod,
you could be very right about that. Especially with my platform boots and acres of red hair, I'd find it hard to beleive that any LOE worth their salt wouldn't see the joke right away.
Glad they enjoyed it!!!

most embarrassing playa moment
I confess. I am Canadian. I am not, or was not, familiar with the various levels of Police Authority in the States. For this I am sorry. 2003. My former partner was a key grip. One of his projects several years ago was LeXX, the Dark Zone. ( No, he's not proud of it either, but it was a good gig and...

If calico cats are the best mousers, does that make calico haired men the best ...........never mind. And MJM, you can't blame a girl for wanting to check out your sporran before deciding if wandering in the heather is worthwhile. (Sometimes they're not real you know. I was sure Ranger Piper ...

Men in kilts, especially bearded redheads in kilts, make me go all weak in the knees. Genetic throwback I suspect, keep the tribe pure. Volunteers? I'm flying in and don't have room to pack a full kit, will a catholic schoolgirl kilt be o.k.? lol...I can't imagine an onplaya occasion where a catholi...

twister
We had a giant twister board made by a sign company...vinyl with applied colored dots. 20 or so people could play at once. Our biggest problem was flying back to Canada after the burn with it. Folded into a duffle bag it kept coming up on xray as ominous black dots. Apparently black dots look like c...

This is my very first post so please please please be gentle with me. I just want to point out that you don't have to live in Northern California to volunteer. I live in Nova Scotia for god's sake, (east coast of Canada for those wobbly on their geography) and have been a volunteer onplaya for two y...
