Hi Burners! We are a community of friends from Russia, some of us have been at BRC for a number of times since 2012th. Now we are organising our local event. It is not a part of regional BM events, though we want to rely on and promote 10 principles throughout the event. It will happen in a beautif...

Re: How would you organize a regional burn if part of the land had to be open to the public during the daytime?

Is there a physical barrier betweeen the public are and private? Is the private area large enough to acconadate all the camps? If so, look at it as the private area as being the Burn with access to the public area for Burners. Set up art suitable for the public in the public area and camps and Burne...

Re: Sizing a Solar set up to meet the demand of a device?

Check the ampacity of the panels and the wiring as well as the blocking diodes before putting the panels in series. With panels in series all current runs through all panels and if the wire, diodes etc. will not handle that amount of current it will burn up. Literature from panel maufacturers (that ...

you could boil it.
Or you could put it on your das to let the sun heat it up.
Or you could eat it cold.
All would work, Trader Joes sells some decent boil in bag food.

"PS I'm considering renting a onewheel for the event for quick travel across BRC might bring an extra panel just to charge up the onewheel. " Check what voltage is needed to charge the one wheel. It may come with a 120V AC charger which you will need a generator or an inverter for. There was concern...

Re: Sizing a Solar set up to meet the demand of a device?

Your math is ok but you are missing two things. First the ampacity of the power supply, I'm pretty sure that if you are using a 5 volt power supply you are using a USB connector. At 5V your draw is 13.4Amps which is way more than can be supplied. Power supplies are designed to supply 80% of rated po...

My first year I brought coconut water as my electrolyte, which I enjoy drinking IRL. I found that it makes me nausous on playa and ended up going home a day early because I was sick and needing electrolytes. Bring at least 2 idfferent kinds. NUUN works for me.

We need to know what you are powering, voltage (probably 120V) and current draw, before suggesting a generator. Look somewhere near where the power cord enters the equipment, it should be printed there.
