Re: Monkeyhut over shiftpod with aluminet

thank you! my best guess with math and experience is that we should have a 3" clearance over the shiftpod, not sure if that is enough with airflow, but with aluminet, i'm not sure if that's enough (I suspect it wouldn't be with tarp) I have seen posts, however, mentioning that they're lovemonkey mo...

Re: Monkeyhut over shiftpod with aluminet

Answers inline below: Questions: 1. does the classic lovemonkey monkeyhut fit over the shiftpod2 with enough airflow? Find the height of the shiftpod. Then figure the height of the monkeyhut by assuming the length of the crosspieces are half the circumference of a circle. A monkyhut is actually an e...

Re: Water and Fresh Fruit

Anyone have the best suggestions for transporting water? Also what if I run out of water somehow? I usually eat mostly veggies, fruit, nuts, granola bars, etc, any ideas on keeping them fresh during transportation and also during the event? Hi SarahAnn. How are you getting to the Burn? If you are r...

You won't be happy in an RV. Get a tent and take the Burner Bus. https://burnerexpress.burningman.org/bu ... formation/
You will save a bunch of money too.

Re: Improvements & Upgrades to the FIGJAM bucket evap. cooler

What do you use to power this? thanks Was that addressed to me? My fan and pump are 120V AC, about 100W together. A small generator or 12V inverter would do the job with ease (my camp has a generator). If you are using 120V with a submersible pump it would be a very good idea to use a ground fault ...

Re: Burner Express

Reno has a stop at Keystone Shopping Center for one hour to buy food or whatever. You leave on the bus from the airport. You can pay ahead of time for extra baggage.
SF has no grocery stop and I don't think you can take extra bags.

Which one is the easiest/ less expensive to get to?

FWIW, the biggest difference I noticed between camping and camping at Burning Man is that there is absolutely nothing at BM except what you bring. Camping in the middle of nowhere and you forget your hammer then use a rock. Camping in the middle of nowhere and your tent pole breaks then use a willow...

Honda 2200i recall

Honda has recalled the newer 2200i generators for a fuel leak at the shut off valve. I hear that the screws holding the valve can come loose and cause the valve to leak.

Re: Water infrastructure for camp

Flow switches are problematic, they leak and jam against the pipe. Most of these pumps work on a pressure -not a flow- switch or are controlled by a manual switch. With pressure control there is an air tank between the pump outlet and the user equipment sometimes built in the pump. When the pump tur...

I predict you will be flooded with art. Could you stop over at Greeters and tell us a little about yourself, what you have done, what you d...

I would also say take a look at the Burning Man Census. The LGBT population from surveys is small. Re: 3D printed parts for swampie

The 3D printing looks good but I wonder about the current draw by that blower. Specs for that 4" Blower are 12V @ 3.5A. Figjams specs are less than 2A for pump and blower. 3.5A plus pump current will limit the number of hours you can use the evap. cooler.

I don't want to be the asshole that tells you "this won't work" BUT I don't see much chance of you succeeding. You are looking at up to 2 months transit time by sea from India to San Fran. Plus customs and port. Then you have to get it to the playa and errect it, how will you do that by the way? You...

Regardin the trash problem on Nevadas roads. There is already an unused tool to prevent/punish those who lose trash along Nevada's roads.
