Re: We're being studied.

Before a researcher might "...hope to find out how Burning Man's principles are manifesting beyond the boundaries of Black Rock City"; might it be a good idea for them to first attend the event on the playa to establish a base line? Also, might they also wish to spend a little of the grant money to ...

Re: We're being studied.

Some of you might wish to cut the academics a little slack. Who knows, some of their published research just might cause some positive change around the world. Could it be that one (or more) of the academics will use their grant money to purchase a ticket, air fare, and other support supplies & equi...

"Magic Fish Scaler"

A local outdoor retailer advertised a "Magic Fish Scaler".

I called and asked the customer service representative if they knew where I could catch some "Magic Fish".

Gasoline Engine Noise - Loud Quad vs. Quiet Golf Cart.....

Gasoline Engine Noise - Loud Quad vs. Quiet Golf Cart..... What is done to make 4 cycle gasoline powered golf carts so much - much quieter than 4 cycle ATV's, 4 cycle lawn mowers and other small 4 cycle gasoline powered transportation? I can hardly hear the gasoline engines on golf carts. There must...

Ratty,

Since I do not have a smart phone, I cannot speak to that point.

However, on my desk computer, I do not see any Amazon adds or any adds a'tall.

If there is not such a camp now, you may well be the mustard seed from which such a camp can grow and prosper from. All it takes is two to make a camp. You have taken the first step. There is a Q&A section on the BM home (with a good bit of insider information) you might wish to give them a try -- t...

Bradtem,

You are assuming that everyone wants to participate in such a project, that everyone had GPS on their smart phone and believe it or not, not every one has or even wants to have a smart phone.

Good try. But, no cigar for you this time.

cc124 wrote, "Had bike lock on." Which begs the question; was the lock cut and the trike ridden off by one person? Or, knowing personally how heavy and unwieldy a Schwinn Meridian is to carry, it could not have been carried by one person. It would have taken two and preferably three people to have c...

Re: Lost Tricycle - Blue Schwinn Meridien

Several of us here on e-playa use a Schwinn Meridian for personal transportation on the playa. When they are fully assembled, they are not the easiest thing to man-handle or to transport. Your Schwinn Meridian will not be something that could be hung on a bike rack on the back of a car or easily lif...

You might wish to tune into BMIR radio at the same time. They may have a remote feed from the burn site where ...

What Eric said about plenty of solo camping on the back streets and meeting new life-long friends. Probably more back street open areas on the 3:00 side of the city than the 9:00 side of the city. Solo camping has many plus' over group camping. The least of which is you own yourself and your time. H...

I 'Third' AntiM & Token.

Those wheels are way-way-way too small ---- leave them at home.

After the first day or so many to most of the roads will be so bumpy or 2"-5" deep in pulverized playa dust that even riding a bike with 26" wheels is difficult if not impossible.

You done good by asking.

I remember when in order to place a long distance telephone call, one had to dial 'O' for operator and tell her if it was a Station-To-Station or a Person-To-Person call.

Somehow, it does not seem like it was all that long ago...?

You will see burners dressed to the EX-EXTREME, you will see burners dressed in the cloths that they wear at home and in between.

No matter what you wear, you will not be over or under dressed.
