Re: Exodus 2014 - how long did it take you?

One hour only!!! Our friends who were giving us a ride drove their RV all the way to the fence close to the gate and parked it there, then we all rode our bikes to see the Temple Burn, we watched most of it, then hopped on our bikes right after it collapsed and rode to the RV and left!! Fastest Exod...

I don't think it's that out of the way, but the decision will be ultimately up to the driver. I will send you a private message with his email so you can two talk :)

A ride from Reno to the Playa needed on August 26-27

We are two people who need a ride from Reno to the Playa on either Tuesday night the 26th (after midnight), or Wednesday morning the 27th of August! Ofc we will chip in for gas, and can help with the driving! We both have US driving licenses and clean driving records! We will be fun companions I pro...

Trailer Space Offered from the East Coast

My friend is towing a trailer from Pittsburgh, PA to the West Coast (LA and then Reno). He is renting space in his trailer to help pay for gas. If you are flying to the burn and would like to send some large items (bikes, air mattresses, yurts, etc), this might be the best way to do it! You don’t ne...

I have Welcome to Burners Profile page open (the dashboard), and wondering if this is what everyone is keeping an eye on?
Do you think the STEP purchase link will be posted there?

Re: Alternatives To Bicycles

I learned how to bike at the age of 26 and I was very scared. I fell many times but I eventually learned and was biking last year in my first burn. I guess what I am trying to say is that you're never too old to learn how to bike :)

Re: Food/Drink: What worked - what didnt

I live in the East Coast and I cooked, vacuum sealed, and froze all my meals and shipped them as checked-in luggage in a cooler with ice packs. The airlines charged me as much as if I shipped a suitcase (I think it was $35). What worked: - Steaks in chimichurri sauce (frozen and vacuum sealed) - Chi...

Re: First time burn: Camp ? RV ...... > or < or =

Mojojita, thanks for the advice. Actually, I brought two coolers, dry ice, and ice packs last year in case the RV fridge stops working, but we didn't need them. I remember reading tens of pages in the dry ice thread and they were full of great advice! I will most likely go with the dry ice method th...

Re: Gifting at Burning man Favorites?

Best gift received: a headlamp from my campmate when I was drunk, lost my headlamp and was using a hand flashlight when riding my bike at night. She gave me the headlamp she was wearing and took my flash light even though it was not convenient for her to use it while biking. Another good one was a h...

Re: Exp. RVers: Suggestions for House rules for renting an R

Last year was my first burn and I rented an RV with 3 other people. Here is what we did right, and what we couldn't dine differently. What we did Right: - Strict rules for toilet usage. The rules were: Never do No. 2 there, Do No. 1 only at night time when sleeping and too tired/drunk/fucked up to m...

Re: First time burn: Camp ? RV ...... > or < or =

I was a virgin last year, and went with the RV option. RV is not as luxurious as people think. It comes with lots of downsides including: high costs and many unexpected hidden ones, you can’t use the toilet and the shower everyday or you will live in a stinky little place that will make you sick (re...

Leo: Israeli cute guy with big green eyes!

Leo: Israeli cute guy, was very sweet and switched bikes with me because my bike was bad! We went to Ashram Galctica with many friends, we danced, hoped to win the 5 stars room, and we watched a show.. it got too frustrating coordinating with a big group so we didn't stick together for the rest if t...

Kareen from Africa

We met at Major Lazer concert on Wednesday night. Your friend introduced you to me because you had an Arabic name and knew you would be excited that I would know the meaning of your name. You carried me on your shoulders and I danced with your country flag! You gave me your camp coordinates but I ne...

Juicy from Xpat Alien Camp

Juicy was your Playa name, and we met at your camp (Xpat Alien). We shared a drink at your bar and had a nice conversation about life. When I woke on Sunday morning and found the city starting to fade away, I got very sad, and it was you who put a big smile on my face! I would love to re-connect!! V...
