Re: cooling your tent or van

I'm building a Figjam, trying to follow the instructions as best I can. First problem I noticed today is the 33 1/2 x 13 is too long for my bucket. The duracool pad was touching the holes in the bucket which I've read will cause leakage. I then cut roughly 8 inches off the length of the pad (now 25 ...

Re: cooling your tent or van

Two questions for today. I got the new pump that you recommended and I have the fan that was recommended. Now, how do I wire these together? As you'll see in the photo the fan has four wires while the pump only has two. How do I go about splicing these together? Are two of the wires on the fan not u...

Re: Planning Arrival After The Gates Open 2015

I understand that, I just want to know other people's guesses/opinions. Preferably no one is predicting godzillas.

Don't worry, I won't hunt anyone down if they give me advice that proves to not be 100% correct.

Re: Planning Arrival After The Gates Open 2015

With gates opening on Sunday morning/afternoon, what kind of traffic/gate lines can I expect for a Monday morning arrival? I had thought about driving in to Gerlach and spending Sunday night at a hotel there but am now second guessing this approach. Perhaps I should just drive in from Reno early Mon...

Re: cooling your tent or van

I've been looking for information on the following questions but never came across it. First off, I followed all the original links and ordered the recommended items. The solar powered fountain pump arrived and it has the following specs: Peak Power of Solar Panel: 1.2 watts Operative Voltage: 7 vol...

Re: Ice chest and space blanket

Anyone have ideas on how I can make ice in Reno? I'll be flying in from the east coast and bringing the half gallon jugs with me.

So you can pay the "USS guys" to drain 50 gallons from a barrel? Anyone got any experience with this?

Re: Solar showers

I used a Coleman solar shower this past BM. So did two of my neighbors. Mine was perfect as long as you used it when the water was warm. Showers at dusk or after are nice and cold, especially if it's windy. I also noticed my neighbor's bag leaking at spots but it didn't stop them from being able to ...

[Lost] Crystal wrapped in copper wire

Lost it around the 12 o'clock side of the Man. Was a piece of crystal wrapped in copper and attached to a metal chain.
