Re: How do you wash out the dust in white clothes?

Hey - update question: how do you use Calgon? Do you just soak clothes in it and then put them in the washer? or put it in the washer with the clothes along with detergent? Advice is very much appreciated!

Re: Safe Gifting

Hey everyone,

What is this about this new rule making people apply for a permit to share food or alcohol now? My father mentioned this, and I have not been able to find anything on it here… Is this slander? hearsay? or truth?

Re: A couple from Poland wants to get marriage ...

Also we had no witnesses that we knew before because our relationship was new and a bit of a secret, but it didn't matter it was incredible with this community behind us. We are hoping to do it there again, this time with my dad walking me down the aisle and our whole camp and friends with us. It wi...

Re: A couple from Poland wants to get marriage ...

Congratulations! I got Playa married to my husband last burn, and we got legally married in Hong Kong in March (we are both US citizens, and he has dual citizenship in Iran). I think your marriage would be recognized in Poland if it is legal here. Our paperwork abroad was really easy. I am glad you ...

Re: Directed Group Sale

I finally got tickets. My dad, brother, and I all have been on multiple machines, clearing caches, cookies, browser history. It finally worked on my iPad without me clearing my history/cache yet again. It worked for us all almost at the same time. My dad's best friend *just* got through. I feel like...

For those who got tickets, how did you do it? Did you get the error code first?

Re: Wheelchair user at Burning Man

Thank you for the valuable response, Fishy (and strangely enough, that is one of my nicknames in the default world). I thought it would be good to get the conversation going again, even if it was via my bad suggestions. Before I went to Burning Man, I found it really hard to imagine what I would nee...

Re: Seeking tips for taming long hair on the playa

I'm jealous. My hair is a tiny bit wavy (but generally straight). At BM, there was something about the dust that made it clump up, but into thinner rope-like locks rather than thicker dreds. It looked so bad, and I had no idea it could even do that. I tried the pin curls one night, and that was some...

Re: Wheelchair user at Burning Man

I think this question was answered quite thoroughly, but I'll throw in my two cents for what it's worth. I definitely remember that some people were using wheelchairs (I only noticed motorized ones) this past time. I noticed a wheelchair user dancing at Robot Heart in the Deep Playa, which is quite ...

Re: Seeking tips for taming long hair on the playa

ok update! The highlights were a terrible idea because it just dried my hair out further, and the rationale (it's already bad, so why not make it worse?) was not sound. I think my advice would be for people with long hair to avoid getting it cut for several months before BM so you can afford to chop...

Re: Seeking tips for taming long hair on the playa

Update: I've been using argan oil and tons of conditioner, and it's a little better. Then I got my hair cut (and went for some highlights because, whatever, my hair is damaged anyway) and that helped. So I think next year, I will maybe let it get rather long (maybe have it cut in April - I only get ...

Re: How do you wash out the dust in white clothes?

(that I tied like Cindy Lauper and wore sequin hotpants with and fake flowers over my bikini top). No, clothes that have been worn in that fashion will never recover... (Seriously though, how is that pertinent?) hahahahaha it did get me a free martini from a man in rainbow hot pants and a megaphone...

How do you wash out the dust in white clothes?

So, I made two grave mistakes at Burning Man. One was losing my favorite earrings, which I should not have brought with me. The second tragedy that occured is that I wore a white buttondown shirt (that I tied like Cindy Lauper and wore sequin hotpants with and fake flowers over my bikini top). And I...

Re: Seeking tips for taming long hair on the playa

Thank you! I haven't washed it in two days and will spray on some argan oil on the middle/ends of my hair tonight. I guess otherwise I can just dye it platinum blond (I've never dyed my hair) because it's going to get dried out anyway. Either that or shaving my head, right? Maybe we could have an of...

Re: Seeking tips for taming long hair on the playa

ok so I was a virgin this year and didn't think about my hair pre-burn. I think Burning Man killed my hair. It's usually really soft and silky (it's my best attribute, so you know, you gotta work it), and now it's straw and kind of hard to brush through, as if there is a residue or maybe it's dry? I...

Well, I found a human

This forum seemed empty, so I thought I would just say that I found a human at Burning Man that I didn't think existed. I guess we technically met right before Burning Man, but nothing would have happened between without Burning Man. Maybe love is a delusion, and if so, I just hope he is as deluded ...

I found on the playa by the Temple one morning what looks like a fur ear, probably a fur coyote ear. I imagine it was part of some headdress (?).

Lost white ceramic clip-on earring

Hi, I lost a white ceramic clip-on earring somewhere on the Playa, probably around the art pieces in the deep Playa. It is a clip-on stud, round and about the diameter of a quarter, with radial ceramic pieces strung together, almost like a white sun. I would be so grateful if anyone found it and wou...
