Re: Fuck!

As i sit watching the webcast, in the house I'm being evicted from, by the man who fired me, the one formerly known as my father, upon the murder of my sister, and me defending her will against his attempts to overturn it... all I can think is FUCK. I wanted to be there, to see what it was like. I h...

Re: Birgin Camp 2014

So, My sister died. That's bad. She may have been murdered. That's worse. She had a 7 Year old girl. Even Worse. That 7 year old is being fought over by a responsible party, and a compulsive liar/gambler who wants the potential murderer more involved in the girls life. I can't even think it's so bad...

Re: Shade for those who fly

FossaFerox, I'm looking into something like your image of the tarp bunker, but smaller. Yes, I'll remember to use shadecloth for any walls I'll put in. The thing is, I need to be able to fly with it. So, the idea is to take a bunch of smaller metal tubes, with drilled holes, and use larger tubes and...

My vacation days were cut this year, going from four to three. (Note, I work 7 days a week most weeks, so 4 weeks vacation is the LEAST they can do)

I'm going to spend 2 of my three weeks on burning man.

Re: How to Join a Theme Camp

I started a theme camp because I didn't want to be a spectator, and I wanted to build something bigger/better than I could do on my own. I'm pretty sure that's the reason most people join them.

Re: Decent box wine?

I'd recommend Bully Hill if you can get it. They sell their best wines in boxes, and they are a charmingly small winery in New York. If you like sweet wines, or as my wife calls them, "Fermented Kool-aid", you might like their Sweet Walter Rose, a desert wine that drinks more like a white than a red...

Re: Presale tix

First timer here,

I'm grabbing a pre-sale ticket.

If you can afford it, it seems like it's the best way to take your mind off the 'threat' of not being able to attend. That leaves you only 4,998 things to panic over before the event.

Re: Idea: All Newbie Camp, suggestions?

For anyone who's interested Camp Birgin(Burgin? BMVirgin? Virgin Camp?) is starting up with a forum. It might be slow at the moment, but post up any ideas and questions and watch for it to pick up in activity after the first of next year. http://birgincamp.boards.net/ This is a free forum, so forgiv...

Re: Why get married at burning man?

I got married at a gaming convention. I did it not only because of the place being special to me, we had the designer of the first game we discovered we both liked give away the bride. We were from different cities, and if we held it in either city, everyone we knew would be upset, so we eloped to O...

Re: Idea: All Newbie Camp, suggestions?

I'm doing the smart thing and hopefully having someone else pay for it, even if I do need to pay for it, I've paid more for tickets to conventions in the past(And then had to still buy individual event tickets once there to do almost anything), the holiday sale price isn't all that crazy as far as l...

Re: Idea: All Newbie Camp, suggestions?

There's definitely enough interest from Virgins on this project, so we'll be creating a forum in the next few weeks. I understand that any plans will go belly up depending on ticket availability later, but I know I'm planning on trying for the Holiday sale, so that I can stop worrying about that as ...

I'm working on my license, it's been 12 years since I was able to drive, I should probably get on that... Re: Idea: All Newbie Camp, suggestions?

From my original post: Obviously most first timers learn a lot from the e-playa even before they arrive, and that will temper some of the inexperience, but at the same time, there's no limit to the types of things that new burners can contribute, that burners in general can attempt, and a camp that ...

Re: Idea: All Newbie Camp, suggestions?

I have ton's of my own dumb ideas to try. Things that may or may not work, and some fall backs if they don't. The idea is to have new people, who will try new things, banding together in case anything goes terribly wrong, rather than being alone. In a group of newbies, things will probably go wrong ...

Also, not to micro mod, but wouldn't such discussions be against the rules of the eplaya?

Working on finding/getting a shade structure that I can easily assemble/disassemble solo if necessary, that also breaks down small enough to bring in a travel golf bag holder with a tent, but that's a whole different topic. Re: One Item for BM a Day

I spent Sunday, all day, driving, preparing for a road test so that I can drive to Burning man or help someone else drive if it's necessary. I haven't needed a license for anything else so far, and going years between driving makes you surprisingly rusty. Also driving into work each day with my wife...
