Re: Best month to buy the flight?
Saturdays and Tuesdays are typically the cheapest days to fly, I've found. Mondays tend to be a pricier travel day. Based on my own experience plus what I've read in travel columns.

I am buying two cases (24 liters) of coconut water. The food co-op where I work is discounting them this month, plus I get my employee discount on top of that. *Score*

I definitely think 45F would feel like t-shirt weather right now...I don't know what it's like in Winnipeg right now, but we're getting a blizzard with windchill down to -45F! I am from southern CA (this is my fourth ND winter) and god damn am I ready to go back to the desert heat. BURNING MAN WOOO!

The reason I put the boat in the avatar is because it's recognizable and a lot more people here get to meet in person. When someone sees it they know it's me, and half the time they climb on. Funny, that's how having my picture in my avatar works for me... Can we just talk about how great that was?...

Happy to see more tickets devoted to direct sale, even though I'll be participating in the mad rush that is the individual sale.

Hi there! 2014 will be my first burn as well. Definitely recommend reading the Survival Guide and First Timers Guide available on the main site, if you have yet to do so. Maybe check out any regional groups in your area. After you've done that, you can really determine what kind of contribution you'...

The playa-tested monkey hut can be made using 5ft long pieces connected with 1-2ft long pieces of PVC. That's what we're planning on using (we are short on car space, too).

Sounds like you guys have learned quite a lesson about assumptions. Good luck making it happen this year, and even if something goes wrong and you miss out on tickets this year don't give up! Ticket exchanges and after-market sales, plus that OMG sale that happens in early August. Those who plan......

So, if I have money saved, a burner profile, get the JRS newsletter, follow Burning Man on facebook, and check eplaya every day, do I still need to worry about tickets maybe selling out before I can get one? Trilo, your saying that things "get crazy" is making me sort of nervous...haha.

Re: My Burning Man dream last night...
My BM dream was that all city streets were lined with white picket fences as far as the eye can see. It looked pretty cool. then everybody started doing art on them. That sounds like it would be fun to replicate on the playa! Maybe on a smaller scale... Set up some fencing and encourage passers by ...

Treehouses? That sounds amazing! Reminds me of a certain Firefly episode with giant self-sustainable estates hovering over oceans. Much better than plant cheese and hotel beds.

My Burning Man dream last night...
I dreamed that I was driving the last leg to the gate, and on either side of the road were bogs full of rotting plant matter. A friend in my vehicle asked to stop so she could harvest the cheese off of one of the cheese plants. After tasting it, she said it was a little passed its prime. As if that ...
