Re: Bringing stuff from NYC and self reliance

@caffeine girl : the one I was talking about has better specs than the Honda, 53dBa at 23feet, and very good reviews. I believe not every model are equal.... I would never consider buying a generator that is not quiet for burning man, and I would make a baffle box, even for a quiet one. So I actuall...

Re: Bringing stuff from NYC and self reliance

In another thread, someone mentioned the power champion generator ( 2000w for $400-600 on eBay) which looks like a good alternative to the much pricier honda ones.. If you do bring one of these, I guarantee you will get to know all of your neighbors real fast, and it will not be in a good way. How ...

Re: Bringing stuff from NYC and self reliance

@captain : Wait, your boat... Is it a MV ?! Do you just ride it or do you also sleep in it ? By over prepared I mean bringing gear I won't need. Like if I plan correctly the amount of battery I'm gonna need, I shouldn't need the generator. And if I run out of power it's not the end of the world. But...

I should have mentioned I did my share of reading regarding camps, electricity etcetera... and the New York community doesn't seem very active as of now, I expect thing to change once the theme is released. :-) Thanks for giving the name of some camp from New York, burning ...

Re: Hello and Welcome... What's your name? Tell me about You

Hey guys ! My name is Thibault, 28, living in New York. I used to go to the Parisian catacombs pretty often these past years. I discovered a world based on self reliance in harsh environment (no lights, 95% humidity) but driven by freedom and participation. The more I read about BM, and the more I l...
