Pending on Location and Time of year permitting yes. Most of the time they raise the price to about $125 during the summer. Like now... Yes. You can find 5000 BTU air conditioners for under $100.00 at Home Depot. Would this AC fit the bill for what's being described here? (a unit that recirculates i...

Re: HexaYurts
Lol I dont understand how your saying portable ACs are less trouble.... There twice as heavy as window units. require twice as much setup and take down. And no one ever said they needed to be high off the ground mounted on the yurt... that would be impossible. Set them on a crate or some 2x4s. Cut a...

Re: Insulating A Tent
That has to be a waste of time and money, spend both of those on making sure u have good, plentiful shade . If you're going to go thru all that trouble and expense, might as well build a yurt. No need to try and re-engineer the wheel, it's been done for you! No way to transport a yurt from Florida ...

The topic has the basic idea. I want to insulate the inside of a tent so that my AC and my Swamp Coolers will be more effective. I'm not expecting anything to be perfect. I just want to Aid in the process of keeping coolness in and hotness out. At least enough to sleep a few extra hours in the morni...

Re: 12v Battery and 10v Pump
Its easy and cheap to drop the voltage from 12 volts. Silicon diodes have a 0.7 volt drop across the junction. Most 12 v batteries actually put out about 12.6 volts. So put three diodes in series (3 x 0.7v = 2.1 volts) with the power lead for a 2.1 volt drop. Easy peasy. For extra bonus points, thr...

12v Battery and 10v Pump
Using this combination in a swamp cooler. Are there any risks? I was planning on using ice in the cooler so that would maybe help the heat from the over voltage... I just wanted someone else 2cents. Thanks!
