Poofer regulator question
I’m redoing a small trike poofer and trying to be in full compliance w the FAST. I see competing advice about whether one needs to put a pressure regulator between the source tank and the accumulator tank. I will do course have a low pressure regulator in place for the pilot light and safety shit of...

Should I be worried?
Both my spouse and I ordered our tickets through the DGS this year. Her's arrived over a week ago but mine have not. Same address, same last name. Should I be concerned yet?

Securing 10 principal street lights.
I’m constructing aluminum water jet cut streetlights that are hexagons made of 1/8th thick 8” x 8” panels with graphic cutouts for our camp. The hexagon bases have 1 5/8 shade structure bases so I may mount them atop 6 ft chain link fence posts. To secure them to the playa, I was thinking about simi...

Playa surfers / scooters
I’m curious about where 4 wheeled gas powered playa surfers fit into the vehicle policy. I’m thinking about putting together a gas powered scooter and would love to build one with 4 wheels. If it’s a stand up, single person mobility machine, would that be legal?

2018 Pre sale Link?
In an effort to not sweat if ill score a ticket this year, as well as knowing a couple folks who truly benefit from the low come ticket sales, I decided this year to register for the Pre sale. I received a confirmation that I had successfully registered but never received the follow up email with th...

Sprinter on Playa
I am planning on bringing my Sprinter Van this year to the playa and thought I might ask others what they do to mitigate the damage to their vehicle. I was curious about Sprinter specific advice if any one has any. I've read that bringing a new air filter to replace once back on tarmac is a good ide...

Evap / Shower stall combined?
Last year I brought out a evapotron based upon the circular pool method and it worked great. I've noticed some folks advocating for showering in a stall that one then transfers the water into the evapotron, others mention soaking old towels into the water and hanging them up to quickly dry out. Has ...

Solenoid question
I have found that my 12 VDC solenoid valve that I purchased from a burner propane arts supply company intermittently doesn't open, leading me to check my electrical connections. They are all solid. When I disconnect the high pressure system from the valve, then it gives the tell tale click and works...

I spent an afternoon with a local Boom Box builder Cassofbass who takes vintage suitcases and builds custom boom boxes out of them. He helped ...

Re: Poofer pilot light igniter question
Wrapped 'around' the nozzle in a helix-oid shape, positioned 3-4 inches above the high pressure 'valve'. Which is not really a valve but the open end of iron pipe, the actual valves are 12v solenoid valves coming off the accumulators, the charged gas then travels through about 8 feet of iron pipe i...

Re: Poofer pilot light igniter question
On our poofers we use the copper tube wrapped in s.s.w., always worked great but now I'm thinking about going over to high pressure pilots, because the subject of fun with pilot lights.. Do you orient your pilot light vertical to the high pressure nozzle or wrap it around the nozzle in a helix? Do ...

Token. Holy cow that was exactly the mother load of helpful tips I was dreaming about. I will get about modifying my set up. Thanks a TON. Re: Poofer pilot light igniter question
Are spark plugs the preferred option? Does one set it up such that the spark plug fires as the main propane is released or just to ignite a pilot light?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Poofer pilot light igniter question
Yes! I am running a low pressure copper line to a pilot light (pictured) that I bent in a circle around the pipe that opens via solenoid and exits the main propane. My intention was to alway leave the pilot light running - only because I don't know any better. I did cover the brass pilot line with s...

Re: Poofer pilot light igniter question
I did wrap it with steel wool, but it wasn't SSW and seemed to disintegrate with time. Perhaps that is the issue? Do you use a Pizo for your pilot light? From the photo you might see that the copper tubing wraps around at the level of the nozzle, I wonder if I mounted the pilot ignition further down...

Poofer pilot light igniter question
I have built a mini poofer to be mounted on the back of my trike. It works well, not too crazy huge a poof, but perfect for a trike mounted application. I constructed a pilot light out of copper tubing with a Pizo lighter soldered up close to the copper. As I've been testing it the past few weeks I'...

Re: 2015 one item a day for BM list..
Are those UV LEDs and are the balls treated with UV reactive paint??? 8) No, they are just 5050 LED strips. The balls are "glow in the dark" balls purchased at a sporting goods store. The table definitely requires overhead lighting as the LEDs are so bright. 2.0 will have an overhead section with l...

Re: Bike versus trike? Which is better?
Tiahaar, THANK YOU for the inspiration and advice. I truly appreciate it, from tips on getting the trike itself going, to the propane effects. Tiahaar, Thank you VERY much for the up close pics and schematic. I did a test run on my pilot light and igniter system today and it went well.
