Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day

Ratty: hahaha, they're about 2 1/4 inches across. Those are 1/2 inch pom poms not the larger ones :D (need larger pasties for the larger tatas)

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day

I finally found a way to post pics (all mine have been too big... and apparently I've lost all of my coding and some photo editing knowledge)... anyway... finished these pasties tonight.

Re: Playawear Work In Progress 2014

Yay, just finally figured out how to post some pics. (I'm so computer illiterate sometimes!) Here are some goodies I got at a yard sale from a retired burner. $10 for all of it, includes furry boot covers, furry vest (I'm going to add lights to), bustier top (in the right size!), tutu, awesome pink ...

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day

I've made some pasties. Had a major score at a yard sale over the weekend... A burner getting rid of all her dusty stuff. Costumes, basically now done. Also included a utility belt thingy and got a really good deal on a brand new hydration pack! Now just need to work on shelter lol I wanted to post ...

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day

Yay, I've actually been doing something everyday for Burning Man (though not posting). In the last few days... I decided it would be fun to dress as a super hero one day. The next day I went to a yard sale and got a batman tee shirt (and a unicorn and some jingle bells all for just a dollar!) I'll c...

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day

TT120, AWESOME!

Love the vials! I was thinking of bringing some vials out too but hadn't thought of the pretty, colorful cords and the labels!!! Love it! I may have to improve my plan, or toss it and hope to run into you and get one of yours! haha :)

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day

I've been doing some Burning Man stuff but then got distracted with making outfits for St. Patrick's Day celebrations. (any excuse to wear fun & fabulous things!). I got this coat last week for $8 at a thrift store. Adding lights for sure, possibly some fun cuffs, collar and a hood. We'll see what h...

Re: Get Your Coolers Off The Ground

I was thinking of bringing extra pool noodles (covering rebar with them as well) and putting the ice chests on 3 of them. Figured they are easier to pack and move than bricks, 2x4's etc. Seems to me they would work, there would be at least an inch if not more of space between the ground and cooler.

Re: Costume & Crafting Help

Savannah, thanks for the tip! I've been lurking over there as well. EXCELLENT ideas! I don't mind sewing, don't love it, but I'll do it. But I can't seem to make clothes no matter what, too long, too short, too tight, too big... LOVE the idea of using what you have and altering it or adorning it, et...

Re: Freezing water bottles

I used to do this all the time for camping... buy the one gallon water bottles, open them, empty about a quarter of them out and freeze them with the lids off. Always worked great. UNTIL two years ago. Did everything the same (even the same brand, which I believe was Arrowhead, not certain though). ...

Re: Where to buy colorful faux fur

Thanks for all the replies! I may have now decided not to go with faux fur (after wading through the craft and costume thread and getting tons of other ideas!). Distinctive Fabric looks like it'll do for a lot of my needs. And maybe a trip to the bay area is in order.

Where to buy colorful faux fur

Hi all, I've looked around a bit online and prices vary greatly. Any of you have an awesome source for fun colored fur fabric to make boot covers, coats, cover bikes, etc? I'm in the Sacramento Area if you have an actual store you know of. I've looked at Hobby Lobby, Micheal's, Joann's, etc. They do...

Re: Hello and Welcome... What's your name? Tell me about You

Hi, I'm Jola, I'm in northern California. I'll be turning 33 during BM this year and plan to be celebrating on the Playa. Figuring out which friends are going this year and who to caravan with, how to fit so much stuff in my vehicle, etc, lol So glad I"m starting this journey in January and not, say...
