And Appendix K lists each person who contributed a comment by first and last name and comment number. No hiding here and eliminates a lot FOIA requests asking "who said that?" The index in Appendix K has ~ half of the comments listed by name. ~ 1000 The remaining 1000 or so are marked as “withheld”...

Yes yes, and steer the weather every way we can. If a pilot can get above the clouds & seed them over BRC the more the merrier.Captain Goddammit wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2019 7:13 pmI think Simon’s scenario is the only hope for reversing the deterioration and dilution of the event.

Re: The basic problem with modern BRC
i think what we need is a great equalizer. it’s called dust. Yes! This has been my thought for several years. We need the playa to cull the herd. Because the "haves" have access to dust-proof sanctuaries, we're gonna need a few days of hellacious brown-outs combined with rain. Total vehicle ground ...

Matt the Wulf Puppy and Chips the Beaver are still missing with no trace. I wanted to get them homing devices & chirp transmitters but Money was tight. I sometimes imagine Matt howling near the hot spring, or Matt and Chips taken in by one of the desert hermits or boondockers around the black rock d...

LOST: Chips The (little brown) Beaver and Matt The (howling) Wulf Puppy plushies
Please help reunite the wulf pack! I lost two loved ones on Saturday and Sunday, who are stuffed animals but real to me at heart. Both pups have visible tags with their name, my defaultia home address & my defaultia phone number. I took them out to watch the man burn with me, and I set Matt the Wulf...

Need a last minute truck driver? I’m a Class A CDL licensed driver based in San Jose, CA
Does anyone need a last minute truck driver to & from BRC this year? I am a CDL holder with air brakes and manual transmission endorsements, meaning I am licensed to drive your big rig to the burn! In exchange for getting your truck without a scratch to BRC I want a bunk in the sleeper cab (if the t...

I'm going to build the 2-stage evaporative cooler this year and looking at using Seaflo High Flow Blower Fan, 320 CFM 12 Volt fans sold at the rainforest online store. I'm posting this as ideas and don't recommend these fans unless you have the power and airflow requirements. Centrifugal blowers exe...

Re: Shipping 1-ton van from San Jose to BRC?
I wanted to pass the towing by the receiver idea by people with real world towing experience. I've never heard or seen it done and I now I know the reason why. I've had that (possible) way for a broke person to get into BRC for the latter half of the week since before my first burn, being the most b...

Re: Shipping 1-ton van from San Jose to BRC?
A ticket and VP can only be used once, by the original purchaser. I'd hate to see you lose your money buying a "used" set. It does not work, is not allowed. Your only allowed entry is with an unused, ticket and V.P., legitimate ones, so make sure it's not fake. For the ticket, Im thinking because th...

Re: Shipping 1-ton van from San Jose to BRC?
Thanks for the advice AF. Since I still don't have a ticket because I'm broke in defaultia dollars, I'm thinking of buying/being gifted someones ticket mid-week (somebody who can only stay in BRC Monday-Wednesday) and a vehicle pass. I would like to arrange this in advance but can hold a sign on 447...

Re: Shipping 1-ton van from San Jose to BRC?
Sounds like a lot of effort to tow a dead van to the middle of nowhere, just to have something to sleep in... And having to tow it all the way back home too. This van is equipped like a mini-RV sans wetbath (I do have a portable toilet that contains the poop), I've installed a kitchenette with pump...

Shipping 1-ton van from San Jose to BRC?
I have a 2001 Ford econoline e350 extended cab RWD van with a broken down engine. I would like to avoid tenting it wi...

Alternate Roads to BRC, why aren't we making the most of them?
After looking at satellite maps it occured to me that there are more than two roads to BRC, that look to be navigable dirt tracks in dry weather to my trained eye on satellite imagery. One starts in Sparks, aligned on the western side of pyramid lake and ends on 447 west of gerlach, it has a branch ...

It's time for BRC "MVTA" (Mutant Vehicle Transportation Agency)
Please move this if it's in the wrong forum but don't delete this. Lets face it, the city plan was made when participants could take their personal vehicles around BRC, and now with 70,000 people it's kind of hard to navigate without a bicycle. And even so you have a machine too lock up and keep tra...

We can't. But, you can. Why? I know the cooler is geared for hotter temps than BRC, but it's still will be a helpful how-to. If I don't get any further input, I am thinking of building two unicoolers with the first unicoolers water through radiators installed pre-intake of the second unicooler. The...

Yeah, but "comfortable" is relative and you're describing potential temperatures descending into jacket-wearing territory. ... Low 70s is jacket wearing territory? ... Office air conditioning is usually optimally pegged around 71-75 degrees F (supposedly women prefer it slightly warmer), and single...

Re: cooling your tent or van
... Why don't I see stories about absorption cooling? Most RVs seem to be fitted with such devices. And such cooler should be able to run on (concentrated) solar heat. Re: cooling your tent or van
As close as I could figure, the idea was to use one cooler to cool the duct of the intake for the cooler servicing the space, thus not adding more humidity. But if the air going into the second cooler is already cooled, I'm not sure how much evap could take place to achieve more cooling. Seems wonk...

A diaphram pump is what you need for on-playa misting systems
I spent the last 2 years wanting some kind of misting system, and went through a lot of trail and error to get it because I didn't know about the diaphragm pump. Then I bought the 15 gallon spot sprayer from the Harbor of Freight, thinking the 12v pump on top would pump air pressure into the tank li...
