Error 522, kicked out of ticket purchase

Hello, I waited over 20 min. for the ticket sale and was kicked out of the sale by error 522! What does this mean? Needless to say I am really pissed off, being kicked out of the sale. What is going on? Why was I kicked out of the sale? I sure would like an explanation?

2018

A trip like this is not for everyone, but we have been to some interesting places and seen things other people can't even dream of. It is great when all the planning and work comes together and the trip goes off without a hitch. At Burning Man you will see things and talk to people like no other pla...

Burning Man #6

At Burning Man you will see things and talk to people like no other place in the world. Margaret stamped about 1500 people and everyone was so grateful for that token of love. No photo can do justice to this event who's canvas stretches across miles of desert playa. People change when they walk or b...

Re: Flash Photography at Night

My best playa night photos were done without flash. Just the people walking around stirs up enough dust a make flash photography very difficult. If I were to try again I would use a handheld flash, held away from the camera. GOOD LUCK, hope to see everyone Tuesday night.

I wrote this last year, something for new Burners to consider. As this whole experience called Burning Man draws to a close, you have to take a moment to collect your thoughts and gleam significant insights from your Playa experience. In this time capsule of one week we have meet people from many di...

Re: First year

Hello, are you part of a camp or are you camping by yourself? The loud party areas are near 10:00 and 2:00. We have camped at Hushville and around 6:00. This year we plan to camp around 4:00 to 6:00. Drink lots of water and don't try to do too much the first day until you get used to the heat. We dr...

Re: First year!

Great news, this is our 6th Burning Man. Every year is different. We are driving 1200 miles to the event. On your trip to Burning Man, turn the car A/C off and start getting used to the heat. Push yourself to drink water. The first day you will be run down because of the heat, just rest and drink wa...

Margaret and I worked at Arctica last year, what a blast. Margaret was a cashier, I was a slinger. Figure we sold $40.00 of ice a min. Largest singe buy was $720. We will be there this year, coolest job on the playa!

Re: Bike LED Flag Pole?

We have been to BM 5 times. We buy the basic kid bike flag and install the $1.00 LED solar yard light on the flag pole. We put the Burning Man symbol on the flag with a magic marker. This really makes you bike easy to spot at night. See you good people in 39 days, travel safe!

Re: 2 way radio experiences on the playa

Hello, KA5SIW here. Over 40 years working in electronics. I always carry basic electronics tools to the playa. I will have my HF, VHF, UHF station going. In the past we have been around 6:00, this year we are thinking of moving toward 4:00? We will be arriving about Tuesday, check the blackrock repe...

We have tent camped at Burning Man for 4 years. Be sure your tent does not have vents in to roof. Bring a king-size flat sheet to cover your bedding during the day, keeps the bed much cleaner. Take Care, Drive Safe,

Re: Soldering Help needed in West Oakland

We plan to set-up near hushville. I will have basic electronic tools with me. I will have a basic solar power system. Look for the 20x20 shade canopy with silver sides and a amateur radio wire antenna on a 20 to 30ft. vertical pole.
We plan to arrive Tuesday morning. Drive Safe, VLAJim

Re: Is a cheap tent ok when under a monkey hut?

The correct name is a Colman Instant tent. This tent is 9x10ft. Sorry for the confusion. We bought that tent just for Burning Man because you can close the small top vents. The only bad thing, the tent is a dark color. This year we are going to set the tent up under the 20x20 shade canopy. One perso...

Re: Damage to Solar Panels in Storms?

At noon You can check alinement by putting a piece of typing paper on the panel, stand a pencil perpendicular to the paper and adjust the panel angle until there is no shadow from the pencil. This will be my 4th Burn and I look forward to doing a study of solar power systems, no matter the size. I w...

Re: Is a cheap tent ok when under a monkey hut?

Welcome to your first Burn. We use a Colman EZ-UP tent because it has 2 small top vents that you can close. The mesh panels in most dome tents are a real problem at Burning Man. You can watch the dust just rain into the tent. A section of plastic sheeting or a cheap table cloth might serve to block ...

Re: Low tire in the middle of nowhere?

Several good points, Be sure and bring several pieces of 2x6 boards. If you have to use a jack on soft shoulder you will need to spread out the footprint to keep the jack from burying into the soft dirt. When I buy tires I ask the tire installation person for their home phone. They ask why and I tel...

Re: VHF HAM 2 Way Radios

TT120, good point about the older radio. I plan to use 20meters during the hot afternoon, siesta time. I like to explore the playa in the early morning and party on the playa every night. The 80 and 40 meter bands are prone to higher levels of noise from the generators and ignitors, arcs and sparks ...

HERE WE COME, JUST GOT STEP tickets Sunday. Think we will look into set-up between 3:00 and 6:00, maybe in Hushville, as we tent camp. Looking forward to meeting many new faces, even better if they have call signs too. On HF we hang out around 14.305 and will be on the repeaters too. 73'S KA5SIW

Re: VHF HAM 2 Way Radios

TT120, thanks for the scanner freq. list. We use a 10x20 shade canopy as the main part of our camp. I use that structure to hold the mast for my 20meter inverted vee. If you have a good size RV or trailer you can use that as a ground for a vertical. Using a vertical requires ground wires and talk ab...

Just thinking a radio astronomy observatory would not be damaged by the dust. Heck, the VLA has 28 antennas, since I work there maybe they would let me borrow one. Just a little transportation problem, but IT SURE WOULD LOOK GREAT OUT ON THE PLAYA. How about a radio JOVA using a old 12ft tv dish??? ...

Years ago we started using kerosene lanterns. They output a nice soft light and everyone has headlights if they need to read something. For cooking dinner we use colman propane lanterns.

Re: VHF HAM 2 Way Radios

Hello RADIOACTIVE BURNERS, Back in 2012 I was HF active at 6:30 & Iris. Last year the noise from the big generators was so loud I could not hear my radio and I lots my brand new dualband HT. If I can get tickets I plan to do HF from the playa. My antenna is a 20meter inverted Vee and I use an Icom 7...
