Which pump(s) were you using?
Those details are in the linked stackexchange post:

Pump: http://a.co/00VLVBT
Fan: http://a.co/jbdxHZR (IP67 rated) and http://a.co/fmIrgjN (not IP67 rated but higher CFM)

These parts work great once the inductor issue is fixed.

Re: cooling your tent or van

Our swamp coolers died three years in a row, the fans burned out every time. It happened again this year on the second day on two separate coolers. I brought a spare fan and fixed one of them, then that replacement fan also died a day later when I was repeatedly turning the cooler off and on while e...

These are 17-4 Stainless Steel. 36" penetration.

James "Heavy Metal" Erd is the machinist/metal artist within Sextant that made this possible.
Wow, this is truly a piece of art...

Thanks, we have done a couple of test cuts on a throwaway panel and that worked well after a bit of practice. We haven't used it yet for a full hexayurt, so we're bringing the saw as a backup.

Re: Free Hexayurt Construction Workshop in San Francisco

Great idea. I'm almost done with my build but can't find an easy way to bevel the edges at 30 degrees. Any suggestions? Three options for you: 1.) The first few times we used a track saw that could be set to the 30 and 15 degree angles. Photo of that setup below. 2.) For this workshop, we made some...

Looking for space for free hexayurt building workshop for a day in or near San Francisco

We plan to hold a free hexayurt building workshop in or near SF. The only thing missing is a work space for a day that we can use, either for free or for rent. We're providing all the tools and don't need any infrastructure besides 110v electricity (and we could even do without that if needed by bri...

Re: More detailed info for semi-folding, mitered Hexayurt

Glad you like it vnprc, I'm happy if it benefits more people, that way the time I put into it was worth it and also I can justify extending/maintaining it. To some of the other commenters, I didn't mean to imply that mitering the edges will help with longevity, I don't think it does that. I like it ...

Thanks, glad you like the instuctions. I'll eventually post them on my website as a proper project report web page where hopefully Google will find them. I'll also see if I can get a link to the PDF posted on appropedia.org for now.

Re: More detailed info for semi-folding, mitered Hexayurt

Funny, I completely forgot that I asked here 2 years ago :) I did not find better instructions at the time, but my girlfriend and I figured it out ourselves and it worked out great, we were super happy with how it looked and worked. A year later we helped friends build 3 more and those came out well...

More detailed info for semi-folding, mitered Hexayurt

I'm looking for more detailed information about how to do the miter cuts and how to tape/fold the mitered semi-folding Hexayurt variant. I read the information in this section of the wiki: http://www.appropedia.org/Hexayurt_playa#Semi-Folding_Option_2:_Partial_Folding_Hexayurt But I'm not quite clea...
