Re: PlayaEvents & Art Spreadsheet

as for the other links on your page, Keep losing track of them Hmm? You could however run an update more frequent some people seem to appreciate it. It takes a lot of time to manually do all the formatting. For those who want the latest data, they can always use the actual exporter to get up-to-the...

Re: PlayaEvents & Art Spreadsheet

>>The good shit usually isn’t on those lists. Feel free not to use it if that's ur opinion, but from what I can see, people have taken the time to contribute tons of extremely good shit to these lists. I've had some amazing experiences that I knew about solely because I spent a few minutes searching...

PlayaEvents & Art Spreadsheet

Hey all, A few years back, I developed a web script to export the whole list of PlayaEvents as an Excel spreadsheet for easier reading/sorting/printing. I've been sharing it on a few of the BM Facebook groups...but it just occurred to me that I should probably post it here too. In addition to the da...

Also, the entire list in spreadsheet form: https://www.justin-klein.com/playaevent ... -exporter/

(plus art installations & camp locations - which aren't on the PlayaEvents page)

Disclaimer: I'm the developer :)

Re: cooling your tent or van

Ooh, that does sound nice! Still, sounds like an RV will require a much larger size than the 5gal bucket original FIGJAM design. I didn't really understand the fundamentals of how swap coolers work - i.e. I was envisioning a "cool air blower," rather than "a device which needs enough flow to continu...

Re: cooling your tent or van

Yup, we reflectix all the windows already. (Except for the rooftop vents - we reflectix the ones in the bathroom & shower, which we don't use, & the other two in the front & rear we've installed AC filters so we can open them & let out the heat buildup). Still, always looking for ways to improve...e...

Re: cooling your tent or van

Ah, alright - maybe I'll just stick with the AC then. I just found another great thread discussing this (https://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=81327), & it looks like getting a feasible solution for an RV is actually far more involved than I'd envisioned (as you mentioned, requires a much la...

Re: cooling your tent or van

Hmm, interesting. I stay in an RV, and had envisioned plopping it down in the middle of the floor as a way to avoid running the generator & burning gas unnecessarily. If it has to be outside though, I'm struggling to envision a route to get the ducting into the living area. What have other people te...

Re: cooling your tent or van

This may be a silly question, but every use of this design I've seen thus far places the bucket outside the living space, and ducts the cool air to the inside. Is there any reason not to just have the bucket itself inside the tent/van/RV? Then rather than sucking up the super-hot outside air, it's s...

Re: Deep Playa Potty Map?

Lol yeah...all different/interesting solutions to needing to go to the bathroom in deep playa, but ultimately not the purpose of this post. I was just hoping to find someone who had seen or knows where I could find the map, that's all :P

Re: Deep Playa Potty Map?

A paper map give you an idea of approximately where you are, based on landmarks. Obviously its usefulness would depend on where the toilets actually are, but yes, there are many situations in which it would be useful.

Re: Deep Playa Potty Map?

1) Takes up more space than a tiny piece of paper 2) Every person in your group would need their own (unless you're always together) 3) Can't be handed out as gifts to help others 4) Can still be difficult to locate in a sea of moving & stationary lights 5) Can be obstructed by parked tall artcars o...

Re: Deep Playa Potty Map?

with a very small amount of practice, you don't need a map Respectfully disagree. This will be my 5th burn, and I've often had difficulty finding them at night. On bike it's not as much of an issue because you can get around quick, but if you're out walking in deep playa the distances are vast, tho...

Deep Playa Potty Map?

Last year, someone posted a great map of all the porto locations out in deep playa - the "Unofficial Burner Map" only shows 2 by the music area & 1 by the temple, but I'm pretty sure there were more. I thought it would be handy to print & bring a few copies along, both for myself and to hand out as ...

Here's a vid of the front from last year when I first made it. I don't have one of the back, & it's not functional at the moment(still needs some repair from damage sustained at a festival overseas ;)) https://www.dropbox.com/s/c1ms90rcw5pmzo0/003%29%20Tron%20Front%20%26%20Side%20%28Dark%20Room%29%2...

Re: Zentai At Night (temperature)

Oh, good to know. So then I'm probably safe just bringing the zentai, and saving it for the moderately warmer nights? Or might you still suggest having something to put under it? I just feel like having stuff under the spandex would kind of ruin the look/effect...but I obviously wanna make sure I ge...

Zentai At Night (temperature)

Does anyone have experience wearing zentais at night? I've made a tron suit, but the only material is black skin-tight nylon; after some more reading I'm concerned it'll be far too cold. If it's likely to be - any experience on how to combat? i.e. wearing thermals or underarmor under it, etc? Thanks...

Re: Comprehensive Travel Insurance - CSA or other?

Yeah, I'd definitely call & ask before buying anything - but what the agent tells you over the phone still isn't binding, you never know what a company will do until you actually experience using them, so I was more curious about which specific policies people have used and have/haven't had issues w...

Comprehensive Travel Insurance - CSA or other?

Do any of you past burners have recommendations for good *comprehensive* travel insurance? I know this has been asked plenty of times - but while I've found numerous discussions, most tend to recommend medevac-specific policies, like the Care Flight one mentioned in the Jackrabbit Speaks newsletter....
