Seeking Architectural / Structural CAD Designer for our Art Collective
Our team put together " The Listener " for Burning Man 2019. We're working on a design for a new interactive art project and are looking to add an experienced Architectural / Structural designer to our group. We need this person to be able to realize ideas in CAD software, with both carpentry and Bu...

Re: A request for automatically saved drafts or data loss due to navigation warnings
I have some big ideas for how this could become relevant again. I think the changes need to start at an information architecture-level though. I'm hopeful the new CTO will not only patch ongoing problems, like ticketing, but take a deep dive into the state of Burning Man on the internet.

The Listener - Interactive Art for 2020
We're planning to build on our artistic work, "The Listener" for Burning Man 2020. I'll use this thread to share updates on its progress. I went from clueless beginnings to exceeding my hopes building art for 2019. Most recently our group, Skylark Collective, shared The Listener with the city of Por...

A request for automatically saved drafts or data loss due to navigation warnings
I just authored a post and lost 100% of it from a simple link click and back navigation in a preview of the post. The forum should automatically save drafts. Forum software does this now. And it is a reasonable expectation of web sites in general that form data is not cleared from simple navigation,...

I don’t get the sense eplaya gets a lot of technical support.
The very first thing it could use is basic anti-spam, followed by research and solutions around resource issues.

Nice and cool but variably near white out conditions at will call. Have mask and goggles at hand before you hit gate road. Don’t leave your vehicle w o your mask and goggles even if it is calm when you step out. Ground is pebbly, crushed in some places as described. Not seen this before. https://img...

Spill the beans please. How will you secure it? Just in case someone finds this next year .... We were prepared to build something from scratch and then by a lot of luck one of our team members came across an abandoned rabbit hutch on the side of the road in Portland. I posted a photo of how one of...

Unfortunately, I cannot do this job after all. Needing to stay focused on our art project.
I do have submissions if someone would like to pick this up and do it I think it would be a nice gift.
I can share the PDF from last year if you want to reuse the graphics. PM me.

This video shows how to do this and the tools you need. Only a little bit of grease is needed. Too much attracts dust.

Re: Bike Parts to Bring
You can bring parts, and at least replacement tubes is good. However, the best thing you could probably do is take your bike in for a bottom bracket service from a local bike shop now. It is worth calling around and asking for pricing on the bottom bracket service of a cruiser. It shouldn’t be too m...

Unless you’re prepared to get pretty busy learning how to operate a shade, you may struggle to get one figured out in time. Token is probably right that using your car as an anchor at least could provide you something for a chair. Possibly full blockage during parts of the day sitting close to it. B...

Re: The Listener Interactive Art Installation - Fundraiser
Thanks, Anil! We got pretty interested in domes for this project. Our plastic dome had to be fabricated twice, after the first vendor totally blew it and shipped us something that looked more like a hernia. What is your dome made out of? Is it mobile? Art Generator Doghouse Purpose and Design Tips
We need to build an enclosure for our generator that will be near our art installation on the open playa. The primary purpose of the enclosure is to reduce the likelihood of theft. 2019 Repair Camps Listing
Hello! Your camp lead must consent to be included otherwise you won't be! Last year ...

Re: Electric LED Surfboards?
The new rules are the result of an extensive process that intended to be explicit in what personal vehicles are allowed and not. Electric skateboards are banned, and not in the way they were last year. At least as far as I understand it from my convo w dmv. I do think it was a mistake to leave them ...

Thought I'd post a minor update-- The Listener project is proceeding well. It is A LOT of work to do art for this. Our project scope is not small--but it doesn't even reach medium size for out there. I'm planning to post fundraising info in about 10 days, but if you're curious here are some photos f...

Sparr, Thank you for clarifiying that. I don't care what reddit does or doesn't do. I don't go there. I do care about misinformation. The Reddit page you posted isn't factual. Re: Main Sale Ticket Success?!
We'll see how the next few days play out, I suppose...if indeed some (for lack of a better term) 'grey area' sales that managed to process, I wonder if the BMorg would really invalidate those tickets. Those people didn't game the system at all--including myself--so I hope people don't get punished ...
