@FIGJAM: What think you of this design? http://www.yurtcooler.com/
Pros seem to be: No pump, and (allegedly) more airflow.
Cons seem to be: More current used. Difficult to use with a non-yurt. Maybe insufficient wicking on the cooler pad?
Would love to hear your expert thoughts.

Re: cooling your tent or van
If I want to install a fuse, for safety, does anybody have a recommendation for the appropriate type/size of fuse to use? I was thinking about using this connector: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/416if716%2BHL.jpg But I couldn't find a fuse on Amazon that was designed for about 12V DC 8A? Any...

Work space for moopy prep work week before gates open?
I need to do some moopy sawing and drilling on Thurs Aug 27th and Fri Aug 28th. Little bits of plastic would fly everywhere if I were to do it on the open playa. In a workshop or a garage or something, though, it would be very easy to sweep up. Anybody know of a kind person in Reno, Gerlach, etc. wh...

Re: cooling your tent or van
Is there any reason why nobody on this forum talks about the possibility of using a centrifugal fan (i.e., a squirrel cage fan) rather than a normal fan? If one were looking for higher CFM for a box cooler or a unicooler, these would seem to make sense, right? Assuming one could be found that runs o...

Re: cooling your tent or van
A question about fans for any electrical engineering wizards out there: I'm making several bucket coolers that will be powered using 12v DC converters. Right now, I'm using the Sanyo Denki SAN Ace 3.0 Amp 12 Volt 224 CFM fan, since the Delta fans Figjam recommends are sold out. My problem is, when I...

Wiring and AC Adapter Question
I want to use an AC adapter, since my camp will have a generator running in the mornings. First question: Can anyone help me figure out how to choose the correct AC adapter? I’m using the 12v ebay pump FIGJAM recommended (rated at 350mA), and the 12v fan FIGJAM recommended (rated at 1.6A). I assume ...

Re: When to mail a package to myself?
Hah, ok fine. But the question still stands.
Suppose I want to ship some home-baked cookies to myself.
When should I send them?

Re: When to mail a package to myself?
Just to be clear, no plans here to ship contraband to myself.
Just pickles and batteries and other various presents for me and my fellow camp-mates.

When to mail a package to myself?
Hi everybody, I'd like to mail a package to myself. But when should I mail the package? How much time should I allow? I live on the East Coast. USPS estimates about 7 calendar days for delivery from me to the 89412 zip code using normal mail. If my package arrives in Gerlach before BM begins, will t...
