At my first burning man in 2000 I was that guy, someone slipped me a mickey and I did not know who I was or where I was going.
I guess my point is, thanks for your tolerance. Even the "best" of us need it from time to time.

I too have stopped talking it up and don't believe someone is going till I see them on the playa. One of the most gratifying experiences this year was meeting some friends of a friend at a concert in July who wanted to ask me some questions about Burning Man. I bumped into them on Saturday during th...

tattooedchica, you will get there when you can...I ruptured my Patellar tendon and was there 6 months after surgery. Granted my knee blew up like a motherfucker and I had a hard time walking but folks took pity on me. Point is, I had a fantastic burn this year, the dust storm on Sat sucked really ba...

I've toyed with bringing my portable loveshack, a 1972 Westy but other than being a visible leo target, I'd be afraid that the heat and traffic from exodus would kill my aircooled engine. I would be extremley pissed if I blew a head trying to get up to speed after being in traffic for hours. I have ...

2 years ago it was a challenge for my brother and I: The very first eve I blew the side wall of my front tire and the official taking care of bike related items burner for our camp forgot replacement tires. I knew a few folks from Truckee that do those cool firebikes and they hooked me up with anoth...

We usually leave the morning after the burn for the drive back to LA-LA land. Gives us a few hours rest and daylight to navigate by. I realize that may not fit your timetable, but after being on the playa, its nice to have daylight. Be safe, seen enough accidents on my way home from phishy festivals...

My brother needed to meet his buddy who was supposed to arrive sometime wednesday afternoon and knew where we were camping. He didn't show......didn't show.....didn't show...... So my brother hops on his cycle and volunteers to be a greeter. He meets and greets for a few hours and has a fantastic ti...

I think a combo flame thrower/seasoning spud gun could make for some damn tasty snackin' around Friday or so. First time I went I told my director where I was going. He smirked and said, "I have some old friends that go every year, I know what goes on there. I'm sure you are going to have fun." When I came back, I told him that he had no f*cking idea of what goes on "there". He smiled and asked me if I had ...

I must say, I was really atwitter about not fitting in at my first burn and there really wasn't anything to worry about. I left my red sox hat at home, brought some jazz fest threads for night time, and had a blast. Of course there are always some snooty b@stards around, but as I live in the city of...

Now, I have nowhere near a broken neck but I did snap the tendon that makes sure your knee cap does not end up in the middle of your thigh while dancing to Pyromania. I had surgery and was in a cast for 2 months and various braces/phys therapy for months afterwards. All this happened in Jan and I de...
