That's not true. Anyone can sign up for a Burner Profile on the burning man website and then register for the sale during the registration period. You do have to have done those things before the day of the sale but you don't have to know anyone who's been before to be able to do those things. Sign...

I've never been to Burning Man but I've been told you can't just buy a ticket once they go on sale.

I heard you actually have to know someone in order to go. Is this true?
