Re: DPW Dump
He did say dump, but that doesn't mean he's right. We're at C & 5:30.
Nice to hear from you, Ratty. I've been inspired by your clothing reworking posts for years. I was thinking of you tonight as I put the last touches on my prom dress turned cape!

DPW Dump
Hello all...
Any ideas about where I would post a question about the DPW dump? My village tells me we are placed across the street from it and I have no idea what it is. Thanks very much!

DPW Dump
Hello all... I've just been told our camp is placed across the street from the DPW dump. We're between C & D, on the Center Camp side of 5:30. Does anyone know what the DPW dump is? What in the world would they keep there? Color me confused...
Hoping for fresh air!

Welcome!
I wouldn't worry about a hammer. It should be easy to borrow one from a neighbor. They will understand when you tell them you've flown in. Enjoy!

Outbox?
I am trying to buy a couple of vehicle passes so we can get our camp and gifts to the playa. I've sent a few messages to sellers through private messages, but have had no responses. I noticed today there are 5 messages in my "Outbox". Have these messages been delivered? Thanks!

Also, note to self: Do not ask what seems to you to be an innocent question on eplaya, evincing concern for others and a desire to do the right thing, unless you are willing to be lambasted.

Re: Planning Arrival After The Gates Open 2016
If we have a designated camp location, is it feasible to leave a camp mate, (a strong young man), with his bike at Will Call to pick up his ticket while we go ahead to start setting up camp? How far is it from Will Call to BRC and is it safe for a cyclist to be on the road? It would be great to get ...

We create Playa Mart on our own with a lot of trips to thrift stores and the $ stores. We also collect tiny toiletries all year on our travels. Hubby travels a lot for work and brings home loads of tiny shampoos and the like. Playa Mart exists to provide the little essentials that are sometimes forg...

Re: 2016 One Item A Day For BM List....
I went to the dreaded dollar store to finish stocking Playa Mart. Happily they had plenty of unexpired sunscreen, lip balms, and loads of other goodies. Even tiny first aid kits. Semi decent cowboy style hats for .99...someone somewhere is getting screwed, but we will make some hatless folks happy. ...

I had a fine time with y'all last year and look forward to seeing you again. I'll bring a pupu platter of one kind or another. Re: Everything old is new again!
I have a cloth shoe bag, the kind with multiple pockets, that we use for the camp "lost and found". It's also useful for all the things you want handy, without cluttering up your area. I cut a full length one in half, and put another set of grommets on the bottom half. Now I have two, that are easie...

Re: Potential 2016 Birgin with Questions
Hello and welcome! Indeed "bare bones" can be interpreted many ways. However, you can't fit a week of water into a backpack, much less the rest of what you'll need. You do have the luxury of many months to search out and find what you need, think thrift shops, borrowing what you can, etc. But give u...

Re: So, how dusty was it?
Our little camp fared pretty well, though it did majorly cut into the time we were out and about. We had 2 old rvs with 2 Costco carports between them. We used all the side and door pieces, and many extra layers to try to block dust. Every afternoon about a half inch still swirled in and settled on ...

Not every virgin is a clueless abuser of the Principles. This was my first year to attend, preceded by YEARS of research. I, and my camp of three virgins were very prepared and participated all over the place. We volunteered, picked up loads of MOOP, and made lots of folks happy with our little Play...

Lost Brown down jacket
Hi... My brown Columbia down jacket was "liberated" from my bike basket at the 3:30 portos on Tuesday night in a bag. I'm hoping the "liberator" found the contents of the bag uninteresting and dumped it. The jacket has a shiny silvery lining and I'm very fond of it. I'm happy to pay return postage a...

Re: dry ice
Have any of you used dry ice pellets? They are by far the cheapest per pound locally, .54 a pound versus 1.99 for slabs. My concern is that the increased surface area will mean they will sublimate MUCH faster. :( My hubby's concern is that we will be overcome by CO2 on the way to the playa by leakag...
