Re: Truck and trailer from the southeast-Florida

It's worth pointing out that people offering a rideshare, RV share, or gear haulage share are allowed and welcome to ask for people to help pitch in to cover costs (gas, maintenance, mileage, insurance, etc). However, as per our posted policies we do ask that people keep the particulars and dollar ...

Re: Truck and trailer from the southeast-Florida

Even cost sharing like splitting gas costs on a ride share need to be done via back channel here on ePlaya so really he was just playing by the rules. My question is Navi why have you chosen a trailer larger than you personally need and can afford? Have you considered getting a smaller trailer so y...

Just to cover your cost? not that cheap and ive never phrased the pricing that way, but yes. just to cover the cost. i have about 10 slots and the rental alone is expensive, so if you want to do...

Re: Truck and trailer from the southeast-Florida

You do seem pretty bright. I apologize for not assuming you knew that most truck rental companies' insurance policies don't permit trailer towing. But hey, if the truck has no hitch, you could always attach the trailer with suction cups. oops sorry more unsolicited advice 2. my rental truck is not ...

Re: Truck and trailer from the southeast-Florida

to offer advice is to imply that you know what I am doing. in which case nobody here does. 1. my trailer is a single axle open utility trailer which probably weighs about 700lbs so there is no need for a brake controller 2. my rental truck is not through your average rental place and i think i am sm...

Re: Truck and trailer from the southeast-Florida

The unsolicited advice I'm offering is to not treat people's questions or unsolicited advice as some kind of hostile act, and don't let posts get to you. In some cases (like where you got the date wrong) it can be helpful and beneficial, and at worst it's unneeded info that can be ignored. Hostile ...

Re: Truck and trailer from the southeast-Florida

Check and see if the rental place, or the insurance co, allows trailer towing with their pickups (likely not!) and if they even have a hitch. Then there's trailer brake controller for the truck to check into also. It's possible to set this up but make sure the logistics are covered. I think I know ...
