Re: New Burner From Australia
Hi Hugh, I was in that situation last year. I flew in on as a solo burner from Melbourne but initially missed out on the sale and was devastated to say the least. It really sucks not knowing if you will get a ticket or not but honestly even if you do miss out in the direct sale id just plan your tri...

Re: How good are Reflectix panels?
Cheers guys, lots of good advice and learnt some basic laws of science in the process. Think im going to scrap that idea all together. Regarding the size of the tent, its probably worth readjusting expectations of what is deemed 6 man. The one I posted above is sold as a 3 man which imo is suitable ...

I see. Thanks. Situation is im going via Burner Express solo with all belongings + bike. I would like to minimise what I need to bring and setup were possible. So far the trip has centred around buying, booking, contacting and organising... so far so good, The shade is the one thing I still havent r...

How good are Reflectix panels?
Have found a few posts on reflective panels and theres seems to be mixed reviews so im hoping someone with previous experience can confirm if they are worth pursuing as a possible shade structure similar to how this person did it. My tent will be bigger than this, so thats more coverage needed and t...

Great beer, Asahai is also nice if you like Japanese beers. They always come in shiny steel cans as well which look great.Savannah wrote:My favorite playa beer is an ice-cold canned Sapporo. They are not super cheap, but tasty and very refreshing.

Re: Couple of Burner Express questions
Last year I worked a 6 hour shift at the bus stop as a Greeter. (I'm talking about at the burn). It was on opening day. By 10 pm a very small percentage of the expected busses had arrived. Don't count on the schedule. They will most likely improve every year but it's still a burner bus not Greyhoun...

Re: Couple of Burner Express questions
Been reading through the FAQ on Burner Express but it doesnt give you a definitive allowance on what you can bring. Im struggling to visualise what that allowance looks like. Has anyone road it before that can shed a bit of light on what would be seen as the 'standard' carryon amount? Also this may ...

Re: Protein/Supplement Type Shake to Feel Good on the Playa?
I have a similar question actually that might also answer the OP's question. Do you guys have shelf stable chocolate milk in the US? We have it here, it's often full of vitamins and such and found in the cereal aisle since it's supposed to be a breakfast replacement for busy types. It looks like th...

Yeah, actually I think your right. As much as I would like to see San Fran, im going to be arriving off the back of a 20 hour flight and only be there for 3 days with my focus the entire time being getting preped, so realistically im not probably not going to get much out of it. Re: RV Recommendations
Yeah I think some of the best advice is DON'T fly into San Francisco to get to Burning Man. It's not the closest place or the most convenient. And definitely not the cheapest - probably just the opposite. Reno is the go-to fly-in city, and there are plenty other places. If you just wanted to visit ...

Cheers. Thats good advice particularly with photos. Im really bad for excessively taking photos as I work with image layout everyday. How would one manage to participate in as much as possible then? or do you just need to accept that you're going to miss most of whats on offer? Most people [attempt to] accept that one won't see everything--but don't let it stop you from trying. :) Make sure to get some sleep though, or you'll be ...

If I arrived in Reno on the Saturday Aug 29 with the aim of travelling to the festival the day after would the stores around that area still be well stocked? Someone told me before that ' they heard ' from another burner that the stores are usually sold out of most items that close to the festival. ...

Re: Happy St Patricks Day...
The holiday we know has very little to do with St. Patrick (who died on 17th March). Old school/traditional marking of the day was done quietly, in church, as you'd normally expect a religion to mark the occasion of the death of one of its saints. Some in the states in the 18th century put a revolu...
