So my husband and I did the math and it looks like the best way for us to attend (fricking finally) is to fly into SLC and rent an RV to drive to BRC and back then fly back from SLC to Florida. Has anyone ever rented an RV from Salt Lake city to go to Burning Man before? How did that go for you?

Re: Dry heat vs humidity...
Thank you guys so much for all the excellent advice. I've read the survival guide once and I definitely plan on reading it again. Not knowing how the extreme dry mixed with the extreme heat is going to affect me physically I'm going to prepare with plenty of eye drops, lip balm, lotion, vinegar, my ...

Dry heat vs humidity...
So it's going to be 85 degrees on Christmas here in Sunny Florida which got me to thinking about the heat of the Playa during Burning Man so now I have a question... I've never been to the desert before but I do know that in the summer it's generally dry and hot during the day and cold at night. I a...

Re: Looking for some caravan-ing feedback please.
I think your plan makes a whole lot of sense! You can post about either looking for people to help with the rideshare or to post your gear haulage share next year, on both the main rideshare board and the 2016 Share Resources board (once that opens up). You could also reach out to and connect with ...

Yes, the water will freeze if you put enough in.festguru wrote:Can you use dry ice in the swamp cooler?
Also, dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide....you don't want to breathe that.

Re: Looking for some caravan-ing feedback please.
With a truck that large, you can carry quite a bit more than 6 persons worth of stuff. Burners flying from Florida may offset your costs in exchange for transporting stuff, or maybe you will find more cars to join your caravan. More established camps may tend to have more stuff they would like to b...

Re: Looking for some caravan-ing feedback please.
Brightly, You wrote that you were traveling from Florida and that it is 3,600 miles round trip. You might wish to re-calculate the distance that you will be driving. From Jackson, MS to Gerlach, NV it is 2,300 miles One Way -- 4,600 miles round trip. I just double checked. Google Maps done lied to ...

Re: Looking for some caravan-ing feedback please.
hi Rice, Thank you for the awesome feedback (especially about gate). We're coming from Florida so roundtrip is going to be 3,600 miles also. I'm grateful that we have a pretty active Burner community here. We have 3 pre- and post-Burn events (PreBurn, AfterBurn and LoveBurn) and being Pagan we have ...

Re: Looking for some caravan-ing feedback please.
Look into how the insurance works for multiple drivers. Sounds great and good luck. Thankfully Uhaul's policy for other drivers is very liberal. Basically anyone with a valid drivers licence can drive your truck. You don't need to sign them up or pay extra fees. Plus I will also sign up for our Saf...

Looking for some caravan-ing feedback please.
I'm hoping to get some advice. My Hubby and I are going to Burning Man next year and we're currently researching some ways of getting us and all of our stuff there. We've pretty much figured that part out but we were hoping to share the travel with others and we wanted to get advice on whether it's ...

Re: What Are You Gifting in 2015.... ?
I've been brainstorming ways for me to participate taking into account my physical limitations (that whole self reliance thing) and I think that for my first Burning Man gifting is going to be one big way for me to get out there and take part. I have a list going and I was hoping to share it and see...

Camera question
Hi y'all, I was curious about photography at BM. I've been to other events where the organizers ask you to sign a camera use policy (to make sure that folks are aware of good camera etiquette like asking permission first, etc). I'm not a professional photographer so I won't be making any products fr...

Hello from Florida
:D Hello, My hubby and I will be going to our first Burning Man in 2016. I've been waiting for this trip since my friend came back from her first Burn 10 years ago. We're veteran campers and festival goers and we've been doing our research to be well prepared for our 1st Burn. We'd love to hear from...
