Ok thanks zaphod, now I think its worth it again. I keep getting a certain spam email, they are all the same and about software for low prices. I have no idea how I got on this list but I seem to get at least one of these messages a day, sometimes I get about 5 of them. The thing that set me off is ...

K first off I think it's great what you've done, but I have an unrelated question. The last few weeks I've been emailing the abuse guys at various service proividers about spam I've been getting. What I have is a form letter. I do a whois on the originating email IP, track down the abuse department ...

burning man withdrawals

Jeez, I keep having these stupid dreams about Burning Man. Just this moring I had another one. This time I was there with my mother and for some reason there was a second Burning Man (ie two in one year). I was having a great time, then the phone rang and woke me up. Otherwise I probably would have ...

I respect the booby as a tool, as a milk producing factory. Other than that I don't give a shit about boobies. As soon as it isn't covered up it is no longer sexual imo. Sure maybe some guys go trolling around for boobs. I think they should be pitied quietly rather than confronted loudly. Just my 2 ...

It's not like a lot of people are just going to show up because of this and ruin everything. I hope not anyways. Though there are other problems associated with a big profile... always keep a low profile, that's my motto.

I hope this doesn't sound insensitive, but I can and did sleep under the super loud rave dj music. I slept in Center Camp a couple times with chattering and performances going on, and usually I got a seat right in front of the speaker. I have slept in apartments where people are stomping loudly upst...

Re: Lessons Learned 2005

4. Make camp info cards to give out. If you are running a public camp and want people to go visit you, it's fairly useless to tell people "We're at such and such intersection" because most will forget. So next year I'm going to make some business-card sized cards to give out with our camp name and ...

Thank you to the people at lost penguin for putting on excellent and funny musicals and serving wine and chocolate. Thank you lobster girl for shaking my hand. Thank you for taking a shitty pop can out of the porta-potty, whoever it was. I saw it the night before but didn't have the guts to take it...

- Sound control devices for gas powered scooters - Enforcement of the no seat, stand up rule. The idea behind this if I recall correctly, a person on a stand up scooter won't tend to travel as fast, decreasing the amount of kinetic energy displaced in an accident. - Night time lighting. Do you have...

...I think another way to deter thieves is to have WELL-defined camp boundaries such that there is NO confusion about whether someone is where they shouldn't be. Where they shouldn't be? Many times I wandered through camps (a few times even stopping to talk to people). Is that wrong? For example on...

I think what set him off was that I said it was a "camping trip". But when he asked me if I was at Burning Man I did not hesitate to say yes. Oh well I'm just glad nothing came of it, but in the future I will probably just say I was at Burning Man.

Also cudos on getting through so easy!

Okay, I only read the first page of replies, hopefully people have a chance to read this. First about the BLM suv vehicle. I was stopped once by one of these, and they asked me if I had any trinkets, hehehe. I'm pretty sure they just wanted a necklace or something. Anyways I told them I didn't have ...

Anally penetrated by Canada Customs

So I roll up to the little booth with a fresh shave, a fairly wiped down vehicle (although lets face it, some dust will always remain) and some nice oldies playing in the background. I'm on my way home from Burning Man to Canada. The agent asks me the purpose of my trip to the US and I say camping ....

Other than a few bikes that were stolen from people camped next to me, no I didn't experience anything like that. One thing I had going for me was my complete disaster of a tent. I can just imagine a theif unzipping my tent flap only to see that apparently someone got there first. Sorry to hear abou...

I can't remember the camp name but it was on 3:00. It was an empty building with two rooms and two separate TV screens, each with a recorder. Basically you could see them, and they could see you. What I started to do was dance around and make manacing gestures at the people in the other room. They w...

I had to pee on the playa for both the burning of the man and the temple burn. The reason is I had to go really bad and I didn't realize there were potties at 3 and 9. I was also on foot and headed more for center camp. I basically walked until I couldn't hold it any more.

I also was surprised to see gas scooters everywhere. While for the most part they were harmless, there were a few (esp Saturday and Sunday) ripping around like mad and creating a lot of dust.

Does burning man destroy the ecology of the desert? I have never been to a desert and am used to areas with huge biomass. I would imagine that a desert would have almost no biomass. Am I wrong? Are there actual things growing there such as cacti or even trees? I don't know the answers, fill me in! I...

Hello everyone, my real name is Jordan but I prefer just Web or WebGraphics . I heard about Burning Man from a famous female online gamer whose interview I read in 2002. When I went and checked out the website I really didn't understand what Burning Man was. A few years later I saw it mentioned agai...
