Re: Theme Camp or Join?

I come from the "Try & Succeed, Try & Fail, just as long as you Try" school of thought. So I say go for it. Failing spectacularly out on playa? Well, that's how legends are made. And yeah, if you're giving away free food and/or free drugs and put it into the book, expect an onslaught of demand. For ...

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019 2PM we all show up to the trash fence with leaf blowers and point them outward at full blast.

I'll bring the two-way radios.

Volunteer for a ticket. There are many camps and organizations that offer a ticket (for purchase) if you work.

By the time any of us get to Nixon we're going to be surrounded by hundreds or thousands of other vehicles.

Safety in numbers.

To hit gate by 10 - 11 am on Sunday, you'll want to get into line before dawn. There will be plenty of space open between I and L.

Personally, I'd ditch one of those yurts and bring a bike.

Multiple Honda 2000's in something like a 6x12 enclosed Uhaul. Probably with a roll up door, but possibly with the barn doors.... Well, first off make sure that all refuels are done with safety in mind especially if you're running more than one at the same time. I'd bring an electric fan for circula...

Not in instead, but both. Now you're talking. A shaded tent, with a fan, and a damp top sheet over you, you will sleep an extra 2 hours. I guarantee it.

Ticket, check.
Getting to the playa and home when leaving?
Shelter?
Food and liquids to sustain life for X days?
Whatever you need to make yourself content?

You're almost there. Just a couple critical items to think thru.

Elliot, you are awesome. I'll make my annual pilgrimage to drop off a six pack of tubes again this year. I had the pleasure of camping next to PBR last year and saw their operations. A line of broken down bikes literally all day long and an amazing crew of mechanics who somehow helped every person i...

Several burns ago, a neighbor showed up at camp across L from us, really late in the weekend. She had attempted Jungo with a camping trailer. She left Reno the same day as me, but spent 4 or 5 days stuck. Multiple tires later she got out. Every cabinet in her trailer was shaken off the walls and in ...

Re: Hot tub on the playa

Just off the cuff, the Coleman portable inflatable 4 person hot tub spa model 13804 holds 210 gallons of water. So that's probably in the ballpark of what you're looking at. If you can handle that volume, all the power to you, big ups, and I'm jealous. I definitely see the attraction of a hot soak, ...

How much shade can you pack? Throw out enough crap to triple it. Bring at least that much shade.

Yeah, same here, California and 14 days. No problem reserving online.

Hint - call the actual location after you get online confirmation. Give them a week or so but talk to a person at a desk in an building at that U Haul yard. They'll tell you whats the real deal.

Running the 20x24 setup in our camp. We did buy the kit from the outfit in the Bay Area, and it performed to high expectations. Agree on using side panels. Recommend using solar shade cloth instead of tarp for side panels and set it up at an angle. This allows airflow and provides extra space under ...
